I agree about the car stereo. I had a USB connected speaker and didn't correlate it until just now when I read the above person's response to your question. That was definitely what was causing the high pitch sound. Thank you so much for that information I thought my car was going to take off or blowup

This may sound strange but have someone check out your radio system. Sometimes an antenna wire or wires, when jared loose will make that ear piercing noise. It may not be the problem but it's worth looking into.

When accelerating in 2nd and 3rd gear my Hyundai Santa Fe (2007) shudders. Seems fine in all other gears. The shuddering appears to be coming from the drivers side but this could just be because I am...

Check the ignition system. It may work fine while idling but fail during acceleration. Problem areas to be inspected include the spark plugs, spark plug wires and vacuum hoses. You should look for spark plugs that are covered in oil or sediment or damaged, spark plug wires that have damaged insulation, and vacuum hoses that are unplugged or leaking. The use of a fuel additive that contains both fuel injector cleaner and water remover can fix minor problems due to water in the gas and fuel injector clogs. Check the fuel pressure to test the injection system to assure proper pressure.

2007 santa fe hyundai esc light on, little acceleration

This light was turned on by the computer control module to alert you to the fact that a fault has occurred in the ESC system, what must be done now is to have the dealer perform a scan of the systems memory to get the fault code(s) and perform the proper diagnosticas.

I have a 2005 Santa Fe with 69,000 miles on it. I am going to drive it another 3,ooo without changing the timingbelt. Should I be worried?

CAUTION: If your Santa Fe has the 4 cylinder engine (2.4 Lit I4), that's DEFINITLY a risk. Get the belt inspected! The 2.4 lit 4 cylinder is notorious for belt failure (even before 60,000 miles due to the heat generated by the engine in the timing belt area. There is also a balance belt accompanying the timing belt on the 2.4 lit -- it is also prone, but not like the timing belt).

If it's the 2.7 or the 3.5 Lit V6, I still recommend you have the belt inspected by a competent technician.

Does a timing belt have to be changed at 5 years or is it based on milage. I have a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe that only has 25,000 miles. Does the timing belt have to be changed because it is 5 years old?

Usually a timing belt replacement is based on mileage not age. However, I would have the belt visually inspected to make sure it still is in good condition. If the belt breaks it can cause serious engine damage. The inspection should cost you very little as most newer cars has inspection plattes that come off with a few bolts, you could even do it yourself. I would think that you are fine, but better safe then sorry. My hyundai elantra went for 120,000 miles with the same timing belt and is still going today with its new owner.

My 2007 Santa Fe is intermittently making a high pitched sound when I drive. Do you know what this is? It does't occur when I brake, only when I'm driving. I think it is coming from the driver's side....

dear friend-it is not clear what the noise can be, but i think you should remove the v belt nd try again.with all the other component not turning it should give you an idea of where you stand.
