receiver turns on but no sound from outputs to speakers

If it is like mine, play around with the two speaker selector switches. On mine, no sound comes out if I push in SPEAKER A, but it works OK if I push in SPEAKER B and make sure A is off.

Check the 2nd Tape monitor switch. If on it kills signal path.

A little bit foolish thing: see if you have both the speaker channels (A and B) down. if you have both down it doesn't work - didn't for me.. and obviously make sure you have the right letter down - same outpout as your boxes

Try taking the receiver apart and checking the fuses.

There is one fuse. If it was blown the receiver wouldn't power up, would it.

My pioneer sx 203 stopped working. It no longer powers up. It was playing fine then I turned the volume up from 3 to 5 and it totally shut down. Doesn't work at all now.

If it shuts down after turning up you have a speaker and or speaker wire issue, Try disconnectiong all speakers and see if it shuts down then, If it shuts down with no speakers connected then you do have a receiver problem

My Pioneer SX 315 receiver powers on but then shuts off right away

Sounds like there's either a serious problem with the speaker wiring, or the wiring problem has escalated in to a blown output transistor

1976 pioneer sx 1250 receiver has no sound from receiver to speakers

for
1976 pioneer sx 1250 receiverhas no sound from receiver to speakers

check the integrity of speaker systems,

check the receiver internal components, pay close attention to the

capacitors, possibly have dried up or swollen (age)

Check for continuity to the speaker outputs.

These may take some time, but I hope you will make it.

Pioneer sx-255r can i connect 6 - 8 ohms

Yes, you can use them but be careful. These are not necessarily robust speakers. If they sound strained, back off.

Pioneer Receiver SX-205 flashing ''overload''? Nothing in owner's manual troubleshooting chart.

usually it is a technical indication of the output being shorted. disconnect all speaker wires and try again. still blinking?

I have a Pioneer Audio Multi Channel Receiver model SX-316-S and I can't seem to figure out how to hook up my TV and DVD to the receiver so that all sound comes through the receiver

DVD audio straight in from its highest quality audio output. Use the stereo audio output to run straight to the TV for casual watching through TV speakers without the Pioneer involved.

A TV is just a glorified night-light, not a sound source - get its related audio from the Cable Box, ditto the highest quality

Pioneer SX-2300 powers up, but no sound.

Does the output relay click about 5 sec. after powering on? If it does check if the tape2/tape monitor is on. Check speakers and wiring. Try headphones.

There aren't any fuses for the output.

If no relay then it probably needs output transistors and a few resistors.

Speakers not playing correct on a Pioneer SX-550

It could be the speaker output or the amp input. If you have a headphone socket on the amp try headphones and hear if it's the same problem.

If it's the amp's power output then this can be repaired. It's a case of unsoldering the blown transistor or integrated amp chip and soldering in a new one. It's not hard but you need to find someone competent.

No sound from speakers?

This is likely to be th output relay having corroded contacts. The headphone output is taken directly from the sepaker output but fed through resistors. The output relay has failed.
