Toshiba equim when i power on it will try for about 3 seconds, fan runs and you can hear it starting but then it just cuts out,any help greatly appreciated

    no i mean the laptop will power off completley,

Hi,i asume that ur laptop runs for sometime in the fresh start, then it shuts down....check for the CPU temprature, the fan RPM must be low , not sufficient to cool down the CPU, give it a try,, secondly even the RAM can cause this problem,, go step by step to eliminate the culprit.. let me know

Try removing the battery and starting it up with only AC power.

Sometimes it doesn't charge properly and will turn off after a second. Removing the battery will sometimes fix this.

Make sure you are getting charge lights as well. If the AC adapter isn't working anymore, it can cause exactly what you're experiencing.

Try removing / swapping / reseating the memory.

Try booting with one stick only, if the top slot doesn't work, try booting the bottom slot. Try both sticks.

you may have a faulty motherboard connection, but try connecting the power adapter in without the battery and see if it runs, then replace the battery back in the compartment.
