Yes, it is Windows 7 compatible. You can find the drivers for the printer at the link below. Just download and install the driver for your computer and the printer should be installed. If it doesn't install that way open up control panel, go to devices and printers, go to add a printer, choose local printer, use the default port and click next, choose have disk and select the drivers that you just installed, then just click next through the rest of the wizard. Just make sure you can print a test page.

have you tried changing the cartridge..?

There is a Paper Thickness lever on the left hand side of the front of the printer. If you go to the following website:

You can get the Product Information Guide, or the User's Guide. Both of these will describe which setting you should use for a wide variety of paper. For normal single sheets of paper the lever should be in the down or "L" position. If you are using envelopes the guide instructs that the lever should be in the up or "H" position. They give you a complete table with the appropriate settings to use depending on the thickness.

Did you try moving the paper thickness lever (blue lever on top of the print cartridge holder)? It should be all the way to the left when you start--if it needs to be adjusted the printer message will let you know.

i have a brother DCR375CW and it will not print on card it keeps saying no paper feed , how do i set it for card thnaks

I just bought a HL-4040CN and all my envelopes wrinkled, regardless of the size, paper thickness or software settings (thin envelope, thick envelope, etc.). Here's how I solved the problem....Open the rear panel and you'll notice a small gray lever on each side, which is probably pointing to "A" on the scale (A, B, Envelope). Move both levers to "Envelope" and close the back panel. The troubleshooting manual says the levers should be moved back to "A" after printing the envelopes, but I left them in the Envelope position and can't see any difference when printing regular or test pages or envelopes, except the envelopes are no longer wrinkled. I called Brother and asked them if there was any reason why the levers can't stay in the Envelope position, and they told me they could be left there if it wasn't negatively affecting other documents. Now, I have a great printer that prints everything without any problems. Hope this helps.

You have Vista this is the problem- there may be a driver issue here

Is there a lever inside the printer that can be moved back and forth? If so set it about half way and try again.

At the head you said 'paper thickness position'and then you seems to have ignored that and did all the other things. Is there an adjustment for paper thickness, a lever perhaps. It does seem to be with the paper feed or paper presence detection. Take a look around, is there something stuck in the paper feed track?
