YOU HAVE PROBLEM WITH THE ADAPTER CHECK THE CABLE IF IT SHORT OR THE ADAPTER IS NOT GIVING THE ADEQUTE VOLTAGE AND WHEN YOU BUY ANOTHER ADAPTER PLEASE MATCH THE OUTPUT VOLT AND POLARITY SHOULD BE THE SAME.

TheComp, I tried what you suggested, but no luck. The scanner is dead. The computer does not even read the scanner through the usb. I called Canon tech support. They tell me that this unit is not serviceable and offered a 20% discount to buy another Canon scanner. No thanks. I don't need another piece of electronic junk. I'll wait for a sale to buy another make. Thanks for your help.
OK WELL I HAVE A MICROTEK SLIMSCAN C3 AND I HAVE THE CABLE FOR THE POWER AND FOR USB......BUT MY PROBLEM IS THAT I DON'T HAVE THE CD TO INSTALL THIS.
IS THERE ANY ONTHER WAY TO INSTALL THIS IN MY COMPUTER WITH OUT THE CD??????
