Printer will not communicate with computer (Vista home premium)

There are Lexmark Z515 printer drivers available for download in the Lexmark website. I recommend not to plug the printer to your computer yet. First, check if your Vista is running on 32-bit or 64-bit operating system by clicking on the Windows logo Start menu > right click on Computer > Properties. For the software, go to this link: http://bit.ly/cBVnVG (for 32-bit) or to this link: http://bit.ly/cxWUMS (for 64-bit). Download and install the software. Follow the instructions. Hope this helps. Lex Z515 driver

If your computer has windows vista, choose the file that says for windows vista. If it is windows Xp then choose the one for Windows XP.

The driver disk that came with the printer doesn't likely have anything for Vista. You can download the installation files directly from lexmark's website. You can select the Drivers & Downloads link and select the windows vista operating system.

I was able to down load the z515 printer driver from the web but it still does not work, I can note also that you are concerned with another printer-z640

Ckeck in control panel & se if the driver software installed. It should be listed in Add/remove programs. If it is, power up the piinter & load windows Vista update service. See if Vista has any patches for you're printer. If no, goto Lexmark & go to the driver section for you're P4350 printer software for Vista. While in Vista update, install any updates listed.

Creat a folder on you're desktop & down load the latest driver software in-to the folder you created. Uninstall any Lexmark software that might have been in add/remove programs. Install the driver software you downloaded. If all this still fails, call Lexmark since this is a new printer. The number should be in you're manul. Or you can go here for free support.
