I have an Onkyo 5.1 Receiver hooked up with Bose speakers. I am having trouble getting the surround speakers and center speaker to work. After I moved, I have not been able to seem to get them to work for some reason. I checked the speakers in the front speakers hookups and they work, so I know the problem is not in the speakers. Do you have any suggestions? I think my settings are accurate, so I was wondering if there was a problem like this with others.
Since it is the surround and the center speakers not working, I am tempted to think it is the settings (and was not damaged during the move :).. If you can switch between Dolby, DTS, virtual surround, 4-speaker, or Stereo modes, try this.
Also, make sure that the input device (dvd etc) is putting out a surround signal (in the player settings), and is using the appropriate cable(s)
good luck!
Perhaps you have the live wire in the wrong connector from the speakers? They should be color coded. I would check that first. And if you have moved, they are most likely in different positions, you'll have to rerun the audio setup for the surround sound. You should have a separate microphone to use for that that plugs in to the system.
