LSU (Laser Scanning Unit) is a device inside the printer that create images on the drum.
If you see LSU Error on the display, it is indicating that there's a problem with LSU unit.

  • Unplug the power cord and plug it back in.
  • Check if the printer makes any humming noise.

If the problem persists or does not make any noise, LSU needs to be replaced.
If your unit is under warranty, please contact our tech support at 800 - 726 - 7864.
Otherwise, please find nearest Samsung Authorized Service center from the link below.

Display reads E-7 03 error code
E7/03 is a lsu error. The LSU is the “printer head” of the printer. But instead of emitting ink, the LSU emits a laser beam, directing it at the drum of the toner cartridge. If replacing the lsu does not fix it it may be the mcu pwb, but most likely the LSU.

1. LSU defect - LSU LD dead due to manufacturing line over-leakage voltage

2. Mainboard Q11 devise defect - it can not output 5V voltage for controlling the LSU

Change the mainboard - if working do a firmware update you will get this on the samsung wepsite.

IF not put the old board back and replace the lsu. most of the times it is the lsu. you can also open the lsu and see if the moter is turning free. oil it a bit and sume times this sorts the problem out.

LSU ERROR shows in display panel
The LSU is the Laser Scanning Unit or "printhead". There is a mirror in there that spins really fast, if the mirror spins too slowly (bad motor, low voltage) it gives an error. Sounds like you would need a replacement LSU. Have the printer serviced.

if it's a vertical line in scanned pictures, it's probably a dust bunny on the scanner head, if it's only on printed pages, it's probably a dust bunny on or in the laser assembly or between the laser and the photosensitive drum. if cleaning doesn't get rid of it, you could have a defective scanner head or laser assembly, or a scratch on the photosensitive drum.
