Possible there is damage to the pad or the base board. Unless this is opened and cleaned the board damage cannot be confirmed. Also use a hair dryer to warm off any moisture that can cause this malfunction
Dropping the phone can make the ribbon connectors that control the keyboard dislodge or water can render the phones keypad useless. Nothing you can really fix short of taking it back to the shop you got it from and exchanging the thing out.
WOW...Hi, bballgurl4321. Unfortunatly that exact same problem jus happened to me earlier this week...what i did was, i took my phone up to a sprint store actually today lol jus got home actually..but i took it up there and LG discontinued the LG Rumor..im guessing from so many deffects and problems that seem like they never stop. ive had 3 diffrent LG Rumors so yea its a horrible phone...but anyway, they replaced my LG Rumor with the new LG Rumor2...the same day...and so far so good..so try that...u should gt the same results and they should give u the free upgraded LG Rumor 2
1 ) remove battery and then 2 min later put back in. try again.
2) mine did that when it got wet. Remove battery, allow to dry in a warm well vented (over and under) area, Put battery back in 6 to 12 hrs later, try again. Worked for me!
remove its keypad and clean its contact surface (which is made up of rubber)with dry soft cloth and u r phone will b ok :)
please do care to rate my solution....thanks
i think the moisture has entered into the keypad sensor where it must have shorted the leads on the keypad board... you should remove the keypad layer and make it dry thoroughly.. i would advise to take it to the service center for curing the keypad asap....if the phone is under warranty you can take it to the customer care
