SOURCE: husqvarna chain saw oiler

My Husky 36 did this. The oil pump drive gear was stripped and had to be replace. It's located under the flywheel/sprocket so you have to pull that. I couldn't find info on how to do that so had a local shop repair it for $70! Parts are cheap, labor is not.

Hi
Check and clean the oil filter from oil tank.Check the worm gear wich engages with the oil piston pump(under the clutch).Near the hole where the oil comes out from oil tank there is an oil tank valve(see if it is clogged),it equalises the presure between interior and exterior of the oil tank.

SOURCE: chain oiler

Saw dust has clogged the passage way in the bar. take the bar and chain off and clean the groove where the chain runs, also near where the bar mounts to the saw there are holes in the groove that intersect with cross holes in the center of the bar, push a paperclip through top and bottom.
If this works for you please leave a rating, thanks

SOURCE: chainsaw oiler leaks oil out case and no oil on chain

Take the bar and chain off--run the engine--the oiler port from the case should discharge some oil. If none, you have trouble with the oil pump or the tubes to and from it. The oil tank may be leaking at the tank opening for the pickup tube. If oil appears at the oiler port, then there may be dirt/blockage within the oil passages in the bar end. Clean with compressed air.

SOURCE: chainsaw chain oiler not working

There is probably a filter on the bottom of a hose within the oil tank. Go through the tank fill cap with a blunted rod. Move it slowly you should find the hose. Draw it gently toward the opening. You can probably find a new filter at a Husqvarna (parent company) dealer if you don't have a Jonsered dealer handy. Oil pump replacement is complicated. Any good chainsaw mechanic can replace it regardless of what saw they sell. Arboristsite dot com is a buch of chainsaw nuts (Eye r 1). They will give you better guidance. Please do a searh in the chainsaw forum before asking "how do I fix my saw", the answer has almost certainly been asked. Spike60 is a Jonsered dealer and is always helpful. HTH Lou

Best way to replace chain oiler line on a 036 stihl saw

To replace the chain oiler line on a Stihl 036 chainsaw, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent the chainsaw from starting accidentally.
  2. Drain the old chain oil from the oil tank.
  3. Remove the old chain oiler line from the chainsaw.
  4. Clean any debris or blockages from the oiler hole.
  5. Cut a length of new chain oiler line to the appropriate size. The line should be long enough to reach from the oil tank to the oiler hole on the bar.
  6. Attach one end of the new chain oiler line to the oil tank and the other end to the oiler hole on the bar.
  7. Secure the line in place with the appropriate fittings and clamp.
  8. Fill the oil tank with the recommended type and amount of chain oil.
  9. Reconnect the spark plug wire and test the chain oiler to ensure it is functioning properly.
It is important to use the correct type and amount of chain oil to ensure the chainsaw operates properly and to extend the life of the chain and bar. If you are not comfortable performing this repair yourself, it is recommended to have a professional chainsaw repair technician handle the repairs for you.

CS302S. How do I replace the oiler?

Although oilers do fail, the most common cause is simply an obstruction in the oil supply line. You can test the line by simply applying a small amount of pressure on the oil reservoir (usually, most of us put our mouth over the hole and pressurize the oil line). If you do not see oil "oozing" out of the plate, where the chain passes by, then you have a blocked line. Make sure that you have remove all of the wood chips out of the line and then try to pass a small wire back through the line - if successful then recheck the line by pressurizing it again. If that doesn't work, disassemble the saw and replace the feed line from the tank to the oiler. If you do have the old style manual pump for oiling - take it out, clear it, and put it back.

How do i clean oiler for chain on stihl farm boss?

The filter could be stuffed with sawdust, but depending on the model of saw, the problem could also be the oil pump drive system.
First of all though, empty out the chain oil and then part fill the chain oil tank with petrol, replace the cap and with the saw switched off, shake the saw violently for 10 secs. Remove the cap and empty out the tank and then refill with chain oil and try out the saw, revving it and check if any oil is flowing onto the chain.
If that has not solved the problem, let me know what the model of the saw is, Farm Boss is not enough, it could be an 038 an 041 and a few more as the farm boss name is used as well as the number.
We can then check a few other points which could be causing the problem.

The first thing I would look for are cracks in the oiler lines. If the saw has a manual oiler try to see if that will get oil to the chain. Check to see if the cap on the oil tank has a plugged vent hole.

1972 shovelhead oil routing

Bottom of oil tank to right/outside feed on pump. Inside is return line to top of tank where filter cap is. If you ran a cooler than run this line to the cooler and back to the tank. Above the pump is the large vent line. It goes to a tee fitting and than to the top of the tank and to the back/bottom of the primary. The small line goes to the back /center of the primary. It\'s the chain oiler.

I cant get oil to the chain on my husqvarna 345.

You may have a problem with blockage in the oiler system somewhere. Try emptying out all of the bar oil and swishing some gas around in the bar oil tank to clean it out. This will work some of the time. Sometimes you have to take the oiler off and blow thru the lines into the tank,( make sure the oil fill cap is off) and blow into the oil tank out thru the line to clear out any debris . The adjustment for the oil pump should be on the bottom of the saw. Here is the manual with the procedure on page 32 of the manual. Hope that helps you.

Can't get the chain oiler to work. Using standard bar oil.

You can always put some penentrating oil in the saw oil tube by the bar, spray it in with the plastic straw attatched. Sometimes this will clean things out. As far as the tube being un attatched,,,, taking case apart is usually the remedy - kinda takes a while... :) Hope this helps you, Rick.

Need help with 66 triumph 650 bonneville

After these bikes have set for a period of time the oil in the oil tank drains to the lower end of the engine and when started after sitting the oil is usually forced out of the vents for crankcase; which on many of these bikes is through the primary and possibly to the chain oiler etc. Usually after running for a few minutes the oil is back in the oil tank and over supply to the oiler stops! Could possibly soak the clutch plates if it filled primary case also. Be sure and check oil level in tank?! If you added oil before starting it will now be overfilled after starting. This is common problem and will mend it self usually. Does make a mess in the garage toooooooo! Jesse "Leroy" Graves
