Amana Fridge isn't filling the ice tray with water...=/

I have an Amana fridge ARS2663AW. The water dispenser dispenses water, however, there is not water going to the ice maker. It runs and tries to flip the ice out..... its just that no water is being dispensed into the ice maker. What can I check? I have manually poured water into the ice try and it will freeze it and kick it out... just when its time to refill the ice trays... nothing...=/ What is it????

    Well, the tube from the inside of the freezer that gives water to the ice trays is a white big tube. I did pull out the tube and look inside it and its clear. So, I dont think there is ice built up anywere inside the tube. Weird huh??

CHECK THE WATER SUPPLY HOSE GOING TO THE ICE MAKER ITSELF ,YOUR HOSE MIGHT HAVE A SMALL BLOCKAGE IN IT,TAKE A LONG PIECE OF THIN WIRE AND RUN IT THROUGH THE HOSE,THAT MIGHT SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM.

It seems to me (no expert) that you have an ice buildup in the tubing to the freezing portion of that unit. I can only suggest to turn off the Refrigerator for a little while, an hour or two at most, and see if the tubing thaws.

    ok, there is a wiring inside the freezer and if you unplug that you can pull the mechanism out. You should be able to better see inside there and as suggested above my post, run a wire hanger thru to clear any blockages. Give that a try, let us know now you made out

Hi,

the water should be dispensed on a regular schedule just based on the basic programming within the fridge. Please lower the temperature of the fridge in order to check if the water can flow into the freezer as the only thing I could think of it that it somehow froze on the way in.

If there is a reset button on your ice maker try pushing it. Many ice makers have two holes for reset. A general rule of thumb is if the ice maker fingers are stopped in a slightly vertical position then your ice maker unit is working. If the fingers are stopped anywhere else then it needs some sort of attention or replaced. Make sure there is water, or ice in the ice maker tray, if not then the problem is with water supply.

number one repair leak could be as simple as loose fitting most likely fitting needs replaced should solve problem if not once the leak is repaired pull out ice tray inside fridge in the rear you will see small outlet that fills the trays run a blow dryer full heat on it to clear it from freeze up which might be clogging your line good luck hope this helps
