One of Two Samsung 204B Monitors Not Comming Out of Sleep

I have dual 204Bs using an nVidia 8800 GTS 640 MB running on Vista Ultimate. One of the monitors will not turn on when Vista comes out of an extended sleep. It will turn on after a short sleep period. I swapped ports on the video card and swapped the DVI cables too. That monitor still has the problem. It is the "primary" monitor per the nVidia configuration. The monitor is about 3 years old.

When keep pressing the power button to shut the monitor off and on, the monitor eventually comes back on. But it seems to be hit and miss as to how many times I need to do this. Turning if off for 30 seconds or so does not fix the problem nor seem to make a difference.

Can you give me ideas on this?

Thanks,

Steve

I have just built a new custom PC and my new XFX GTS 250 will not work with my Vista Ultimate 64 bit OS but it will work on my Dad's Dell XPS with Vista Ultimate 32 bit! Also his Nvidia 8800 GTX will work...

Your device driver have been tampered with. Check the internet for the driver of your device, download it and install it on your system. You can also use the CD that came with it if any.

Nvidia geforce 8800 gts code 43 due to vista home premium

Well if you installed the correct drivers for your video card and have the proper power supply requirements, then the vertical lines you're getting most likely indicate that your video card is bad.

Try it in another computer if available, or get another video card.
