How do use Verbatim to back up files

Which operating system ?

Determine how much space you need. The first step in backing up your hard drive is to figure out how much space you will need to back up all of your files. You can do this in a couple of ways. Find out how large the hard drive is on your computer first to see if you can back up the whole thing. Click on "My Computer," right-click the "C" drive and select "Properties." This shows the approximate of your hard drive, how much space is actually taken, plus the space used by your operating system. If your hard drive is manageable (the space actually taken), back up the whole thing. Your second option is to create a file called "Backup" and copy all of your important files into it. Right-click on the folder once everything is copied over and choose "Properties" to find out the of the folder. This is how much space you will need to back up your important files only. Choose a backup method. Choose either an external hard drive, data disks (CDs, for example) or use an online backup service. Plug the flash drive or the External Hard drive into your computer's rectangular-shaped USB drive. Wait for Windows to recognize the system. Windows operating systems use "plug and play" technology, which means that computer peripherals like USB flash drives can be recognized instantly by the system without further need for device configuration. Open the drive on your computer. Open the "My Computer" directory if using Windows XP or the "Computer" directory if using Windows 7 or Vista. Locate the flash drive letter and icon under the section named "Devices with Removable Storage." Double-click the flash drive icon to open it. Transfer files to the flash drive. Click the "Restore" button in the top-right corner of the "Computer" or "My Computer" directory to shrink the window so that you can view your computer's desktop background. Open the folders or locations of the files which you want to save to the flash drive. Click and drag with your mouse each of the files and folders you want to save to the flash drive over to the empty space in the "My Computer" or "Computer" window. Release the mouse button to let the files "drop." Close the windows and directory locations when finished. Save files directly onto the flash drive. From an open file (i.e. text, spreadsheet, image files. etc.), click the "File" menu and "Save as" option. Select the "My Computer" or "Computer" directory in the drop-down menu at the top of the "Save As" box. Double-click the flash drive letter under the "Devices with Removable Storage" section. Click the "Save" button to save the file onto the flash drive. Close the windows and files when finished

My problem is how to download a song in a usb please cmplete instraction

I am assuming you are trying to download the song onto a USB Drive or USB Music Player so when you Download the song all operating systems are slightly different as are browsers so I am giving these instructions based on internet Explorer and Windows 7. Click to download then you will get a popup in the bottom of your internet window asking if you want to run or save or cancel. Next to the Save button is a small arrow click the arrow and move down the drop down list to SAVE AS and click on that a new windows browser window will open and you can sellect what to name the file you are downloading and where to save the file, on the left is a tree view of the files folders, ect on your PC if you scrol to and click on computer it will then list all the Main Drives ie: Hard drives cd/dvd rom drives and all removable media/Drives including your USB drive Click on that and click OPEN/SAVE if it was open then it will open and list anything already on that drive just click SAVE now to add your new file to the drive. Alternativly You can download onto your PC anywhere then open the File location and alongside that window in a new window open your USB drive to view the files Then just drag and drop or Copy and paste the desired files to the USB drive
Hope this Helps!!!

I need help with trying to download from a microsoft document to a 256 MB zip drive. Have no instuction, have never used it.

Plug the drive into your USB port and you should have a window pop up asking you what to do (open to view files/ do nothing / etc).
This will "mount" the device and also assign it a drive letter( probably D in this case).
You can either open the folder to view files and then drag your document onto it, or you can open the file and then do File> Save As and then in the save box click the dropdown on location and choose the usb drive from the list. Name appropriately and hit save.
If this was a help please give me 4 thumbs up as I am trying to build up my rep on this site!

I can't see the files on my Maxtor external drive any more! How do I get to list them, retrieve them, update them?

Hello,
Have you tried viewing hidden files, you can also use 'win rar' software (you can freely obtain it on the internet) to view your drive in the case where you cannot see your even after enabling hidden files. If 'win rar' works, then you can copy your files through the 'win rar' by using "Control+c" keys and pasting them somewhere else. If this does not solve your problem, you can go through google search engine to obtain a good file recovery software (an example is 'Recover My Files') on the internet. Install it and follow the instructions to retrieve what you want but try and be patient since it might take time depending on your PC's hardware ability. Try and save the recovered files on a different media from the one you are recovering from. It could be another hard drive partition or an external drive.

All the best.

Missing files after refresh

Give it some time to refresh. Maybe the computer is using most of tis resources and it takes some time to show the contents again. Also, check what type of view you have( under view= thumbnails, list, etc)
Some previews will take forever to show.
