I have an Insignia Surround Sound Receiver (NS-R5101HD). I was adjusting the Speaker Distance settings and now I have no sound coming out of the center and two rear speakers when set on Auto Surround. Does anyone know how to fix this problem or how you reset the settings to factory default?

So your saying that you have no rear channel. Some recivers use a single stereo output ic for both sides on the rear speakers. you could have a defect with this IC . Anther thing Im sure you check3ed the obvious ie : the switch is on suround sound? If there is a front to rear fader is it in the middle? Good Luck

That may be a clue to your shutdown problem. Disconnect that speaker and see if the unit still shuts down. If it does not, then there is a problem with this speaker,or the wiring going to this speaker. If the unit still shuts down, disconnect each speaker at a time to see where the problem is. If none of the speakers seem to cause the shutdown problem, there is na major fauly in the amp circuit, so the amp will need serviceing or replacement. Good Luck

make sure that all input cables are in the correct positon also make sure that any inputs you are using don't have a macrovision in them that will also kill your sound due to copyright laws and stuff but main thing check all wires coming in to receiver and if you need more inputs go to walmart and get a rca splitter basicaly its a 1 in two out connection to add more cables in the input

Hey there.
I had the same problem until i figured out that if u dont have surround speakers connected it will be a error when trying to configure the rear surround speakers.
So if u are running a 5.1 system and have hooked up ur surround speakers to the back surround speaker port u have to change them to the surround speaker port.
Hope this work for u
