W2361VG Monitor "OSD Locked" and service menu

Just replaced the same model after the first one wouldn't turn on after sleeping. This model turned on fine, but OSD locked" message comes up. Sometimes I can get the service menu to come up, but nothing happens when you push ANY of the buttons, and then it goes right back to OSD locked mode. I can't read the damn manual because I'm running a Mac Pro and they didn't include a mac version on the CD user guide! If I push menu button right now, nothing happens. It just seems so random, I can't figure out a pattern!

This just means the On Screen Display (OSD) is locked. Press and hold the menu button on the front panel for 10 seconds.

The brightness icon stays on my screen

The OSD can be enabled or disabled by pressing and holding the Menu button on the front panel for 10 seconds. If the OSD is locked, the warning message OSD Lock displays for ten seconds.

* If the OSD is locked, press and hold the Menu button for 10 seconds to unlock the OSD.
* If the OSD is unlocked, press and hold the Menu button for 10 seconds to lock the OSD.

May need to do this with if off (OSD Lock Function: To lock the OSD, press and hold the MENU button while the monitor is off and then press power button to turn the monitor on. To un-lock the OSD - press and hold the MENU button while the monitor is off and then press power button to turn the monitor on.)

When i press the power button to turn off monitor, i get a power button lockout message. how do i unlock the power button

I did not see anything regarding to the Power locked out function, may be it's time to call HP. Please post back what you find out from HP.
I look at HP WEBSITE: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01632269&tmp_track_link=ot_recdoc/c01643091/en_us/c01632269/loc:1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3770762

Locking OSD settings
When the OSD is locked, settings cannot be changed in the OSD menu. The OSD functionality is enabled or disabled by pressing the Menu button and holding it for 10 seconds. Upon disabling the OSD, an OSD Lock-out message is displayed for 10 seconds. When the OSD is locked and an OSD menu button is pressed, the OSD Lock-out message is displayed for an additional 10 seconds. When the OSD is locked, pressing the OSD menu button for 10 seconds unlocks the OSD and displays the main menu. Identifying monitor conditions
Special messages display on the monitor screen for the following monitor conditions:
  • Input Signal Out of Range : Indicates the monitor does not support the input signal because the resolution and/or refresh rate are set higher than the monitor supports. Recommended refresh rates are as follows:
    • For the w1858 monitor: 1366 x 768 @ 60 Hz.
    • For the w2338h monitor: 1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz.
  • Monitor Going to Sleep : Indicates the screen display is entering a sleep mode.
  • Check Video Cable : Indicates a video input cable is not properly connected to the computer or monitor.
  • OSD Lock-out : When the OSD is locked, the warning message OSD Lock displays for 10 seconds.
  • No Input Signal : Indicates the monitor is not receiving a video signal from the computer on the monitor video input connector. Check whether the computer or input signal source is off or in the power-save mode.
  • Auto Adjustment in Progress : Indicates the auto-adjustment function is active and in process.

Turn off monitor, hold down the menu button, turn the monitor back on, release the menu button after 10-20 seconds. Your Iiyama screen will now be unlocked.
