Fax machine won't recieve solicitations

Make sure "Auto Rx" light is on. It may also be labeled as "Auto Receive".

While it is ringing, press the start button to receive a fax.

Only one press for each display,
When you press the FAX RECEIVE MODE button, the display should change each time you press. eg: AUTO, FAX ONLY
When you see the FAX ONLY, press the SET button and leave it like that. Don't try to do it when the fax rings. Do it when the fax machine is idle.

Set the fax machine to FAX ONLY mode by
pressing {RECEIVE MODE} until the
following is displayed.
1 The display will show the number of
rings before the fax machine answers a
call in FAX ONLY mode.
2 Press {+} or {-} to change the ring
setting to 2 and press {SET}.
How to receive calls
Just leave it. When the other party sends a fax,
the fax machine will receive it automatically.

Try This
Goto to Setup (on the printer) Fax settings Check The ECM(Error correction mode) : It should be off ; DRP(Distictive ring patern): ALL Rings; Rings to answer 2 (dedicated) ; 6 (Answering machine ); There should be no voice mail service activated otherwise you won't be able to recieve fax; Try getting fax it should work;

Check if the machine is set on automatic recieve.
When on manual recieve, you'll have to start recieving manualy by pressing the button.

Fax has to be set to auto recieve.

Try unplugging the power cord for 10 seconds to reset the machine.

Scroll through the menus and set your machine to AUTO or AUTO RECEIVE.

Make sure the Auto answer the button is on....

Or
Reset the printer setting to default and set the rings again to 3...and try..

you need to watch during ringing period need to click ok or press what ever message says.

DR mode means that Distinctive Ring is set to on which will force your fax machine to manual receive. Turn DR off and you can set it to whatever mode you want.
