The SSID is the Identification of the Wireless network, you set it up in your router settings.
Some routers got a static SSID, you can view it also in your router settings.

You cannot secure the wireless router over the Internet. Basically the wireless router is secured by opening a browser and entering the wireless router's URL configuration address.

what you need to do is go to your wireless settings on you computer and remove the wireless network that you connected to before.
then go and reconnect to your network any wireless security settings that need to be entered should be asked for if not then you will have to reset router and the best way tto do that is to locate small reset hole on rear of router and push and hold for 10 seconds, router must be powered on
