HI there, I have an GE Refrigerator Side-Side. 5 Years old as of today and the freezer side works fine and compartment stays cold. The refrigerator side does not stay cold. I have turned the coldness level all the way to 9 for maximum cold and that has not changed the coldness.I can provide both the serial and make model if needed.
You most likely have a defrost problem. Check the inside back panel of the freezer. See if there is ice built up. If so, you have a problem with the defrost. 85% of the time, it's caused by a bad heater. It could be the termination thermostat, timer or fan. If the ice is built up. Take the panel out and defrost with hair dryer. If you want, you can now check the heater and termination thermostat. It's a closed switch that opens on the rise. If you fix it your self or not, To save your food. You can replace the panel and turn the fridge back on, it will operate correctly for 3 or 4 days. This will give you time to either get the part and fix it or for someone to get out and repair.
Please rate solution and make it worth the while to summit solutions. Thanks

Hi AAsc,
Model number: GSL25JFPA BS
Serial number: GF275594
Freon Number: R134A - 4.25 oz.
Inside the Freezer compartment there definetely is frost as all of the sections within the freezer compartment are nice and cold as they should be. I do hear the freezer fan working also. The refrig section is luke cold where milk is moderately cold but not the normal recommended cold setting say at like 4.
Hi there AAsc,
Did you receive my earlier reply?
Complete model number needed , plus a little more information . Is there frost inside the freezer , on the back wall ? Do you hear the freezer fan working , when you push in the door switch ? Do you feel air coming thru the vent at the top left of the refrig section ? All of this is important , to give you the best possible answer .
