I own a lg rh399h dvd recorder. I have finally figured out how to record from dvd to hdd, but it records in real time (slowly). Does anyone know how to :fast copy'' from dvd to hdd???

I've had "Record-blocking signals detected" on my LG RH398H-M recorder off & on since I bought it almost a year ago. Also other minor problems. LG replaced the recorder 4 times with no change in problems. I became suspicious when I found that when these messages came on I could switch to any channel, digital or analog, even the weather channel, and I would still get the same message for about 5 minutes & then everything would be OK again. Recently I finally got the chance to try something. When the message came on I disconnected the input to the recorder and the message still came on! Again, I got the message "Record-blocking signal detected" with ABSOLUTELY NO INPUT CONNECTED to the recorder!!! Of course it's impossible for the recorder to be receiving blocking signals when there's nothing connected to the inputs. I wrote to LG again and threatened a law suit but so far they've been ignoring me. I would like to hear from anyone who can duplicate the above.

I recently purchased a RH399H LG. I am unable to record from DVD to HArd Disk. Anyhelp would be appreciated.

Press "Home" on remote and goto "movies" and select "disc", Once playing, press "home" again and go to settings and select dubbing. Copies in real time though and not "fast copy" I too would like to know how to do that.

Recording error

mine was doing the same thing.and we found out that if you recorded something and dont finalize it will not recored anything else till you finalize what you recored then it works again

Hi. I have this machine and it will only fast transfer if the original hdd recording has NOT been edited (i.e part deleted/divided/combined). This is also in the manual p51/52.

make sure you set dubbing speed to sp ,short play,thats the default setting,then go to start up menu and finalize disk

LG HDD/DVD RECORDER RH399H

Insert an empty DVD + R. The system asks whether to format - Format.
Select a recording on the HDD to copy to DVD.
Enter
Select dubbing
with arrows select type of recording to make (XP, SP, EP etc)
The system show the duration you can copy to you DVD. If small enough the FAST option also appears.
If big copies while playing the orriginal (I.e. playback speed)

Hi Jacques,
As die DVD deur die rh399h opgeneem is speel mens terug deur die dvd instede van die HDD te kies en weer via Dubbing oor te kopie.
My stel is nou by Lg se agent in Centurion (VHF electronics) omdat hy ophou aanskakel het en ek het weer gevra waarom die stel nie buite leesbare dvd's maak nie. Ek sal berig wat die antwoord en hopelik oplossing is. Ek het nog nie probeer of die stel standaard (komersiele) dvd speel nie want ek het 'n ander multi dvd speler.

Sal probeer sodra die stel terugkom.

Wonder of die probleem net in die RSA voorkom?

Why do my copied DVD's copied from LG RH399H recorder don't want to play on my PC or any other device exept the recorder itself?

The LG RH399H will allow you to eject a DVD that you have recorded on without finalizing. Put the disc back in the machine and find the "Disc Menu" From this menu choose "Finalize".
