    there is no such software!
no software made can fix a true bad hdd.
some Seagates, can with the free seagate tools app,. very rare can it work.
or needs only the seagate firmware update there. (offering only hope here this is none to minuscule.)

if the HDD fails hdd SMART tests it is a bad HDD.
using MS chkdisk command on bad drive is endless path failure.
    NO PC told
    No OS told
    NO HDD maker told.
    strike 3 you are out:?

    if this APP show FAIL
    the drive IS BAD.

all modern HDD made have spare hidden sectors inside. not part of the user volume.
all have spare sectors to self repair themselves, (unseen by most user) not me.
when the spares sectors run drive the
drive now has bad sectors and is a NOW BAD HDD.
best is to move the hDD to a USB dock
    for later data retrieval.
running any Bad HDD now only causes more data loss and more rapidly.
    buy new drive ,reload w10;.

SOURCE: harddisk Bad sector & not detecting

Hi, If your partitioning and/or formatting program is already reporting "bad sectors", then your best bet is to replace the hard drive. The mere presence of bad sectors indicates drive problem which in the normal course of time/usage would increase and eventually make the drive inoperable. Using such a drive as your "C" and/or to contain mission critical files may not be to your advantage. Hope this be of some idea/help. Good luck and kind regards.

bad sectors are not fixable as far as hard drives go.
you mmight find software that claims ti fix bad sectors but the claim is false as they only temporarily overwrite the sectors and unmark the bad and remark to good but the problem remains to be the sectors are bad.
The best thing to do is to replace the hard drive with a good used one or a new one.

Sorry but as a technician I know what bad sectors are and what happens when you get them.

Bad sectors ona drive is normal. The modern High capacity drives actually have more capacity than they tell you so that when bad sectors appear they swwap them out for good ones. So I would not worry about it, unless there are lots. How did you discover the bad sectors?

Go to http://www.grc.com and download spinrite. That will have a good go at fixing the bad sectors.

View Link. But under answers, someone mentioned "Bad Sector", after reading the description, any fixits I can do?

BAD SECTORS
When a hard drive has bad read/write sectors it means the magnetic oxide layer on the disc platters are failing. Before you made an image of the hard drive you should have ran Error Check on the C Drive. This checks and locates the bad sectors and moves the data to an undamaged part of the disc platters and then locks out that bad sector so data cannot be written on the bad sector.
I recommend you do a fresh Windows install on your new hard drive to fix this problem and install the laptop's device drivers plus your programs and data before the hard disk fails completely.

My computer burned 2 hdd

After i Read your Explaination,i really sure if the Problem is at your Computer POWER SUPPLY.
Change your Power Supply to Higher Watt.
i Recomended to you to Using SIMBADA Power Supply ATX.
and to Fix your HDD bad Sector,Try to use LLF (Low Level Format).
LLF will destroy all data and Partition. So after you Format using LLF,you need to make a New partition at your HDD.
LLF is Working for me to Fix Bad Sector in a So many times.

I have bad sector's on my hdd, and I tried to remove them with hddreg 1.71 but nothing, and I'm getting S.M.A.R.T error....pls HELP!!!!!!I can't affort a new hdd

You CANNOT remove a Bad Sector, the best you can do is Lock them out, from use. However IF you are getting a SMART error, then I am sorry this drive has failed and will very soon fail completely. I include a couple of links for recovery software. But as I said before, if you are getting a SNMART error, then really the drive is on it;s way out, the actual media, the magnetic surface has/is deteriorated and is most likely microscopically flaking off.

Many Bad Sectors fat32, trying recovery disk

Hi,

It sounds like your HDD is faulty, usually a hardrive can operate with bad sectors but still a risk.

My best advice would be to get a new HDD and recover back on to the new one, even if you did manage to recover onto your current one you may still have problems in the future.

I usually only allow a HDD to fail S.M.A.R.T tests 3 times over any given period and then I just replace them.

Thanks

Cant install lifecam program

There could be only three reasons. 1st your installation source is corrupt. Remedy. Get a new installation source. Secondly your root partition of your HDD has bad sector. whenever your PC tries to install your software it fells into bad sector of your partition. Remedy. Use a third party software to fix your partitions bad sectors. Finally. IRQ clashing check wether there is IRQ clashing with other peripheral. To check IRQs you can go to my comp properties device manager.

Hdd does not setup xp

You can use Partition Magic. By this software, you can repartition your HDD & Hide the partition that have BAD sector. Make a new partition without bad sector space & active it as a primary partition. That's ok. Now you can install XP.

Satelite M40 Boot problems

Hi there,

It sounds like your hdd. If you have access to another computer, download a program called SeaTools for DOS, from the Seagate website:
http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/downloads/seatools

This program will make a boot disc that will check ALL sectors on the drive. If bad sectors are found, you will be given the option to fix.

Let me know how you get on.

Bad sectors removal and formating Seagate 80 GB

I suggest puting your hdd on another computer, full format it again, and scan it for bad sectors. Also, searching for a program that repairs bad HDD sectors, the windows default erros scan could not be very helpful if there are many bad sectors.
