1st = try to determine why freezer is not freezing.
fridge is cooled from freezer.
water may not be flowing because freezer is not cold enough to make ice.

Verify freezer door is closing and seals are sealing. If you slam the fridge door closed and the freezer door moves there is a problem.

When the compressor is running, both the fan inside the freezer and the fan down by the compressor should be running. If OK, look for frost on the back wall of the freezer, indicating a probable defrost heater failure. If yes, remove back metal cover in freezer, defrost with hair blower, replace defrost heater (the thing at the bottom of the freezer coils with two wires going to it)

The compressor not working, relay switch on compressor not working Had repair man put new switch in .Last year put in new fan motor in freezer compartment the cool air was not circulating both problems made the fridge not to cool and drip water

the relay on your compressor is bad go behind you refrigerator and take off the the bottom panel the relay is on the left side of your compressor usually

SOURCE: amana side-by-side fridge freezer only cold at the bottom

yes the evap fan in the frezer should be running when the compressor is running[it may not for a minute or so as it starts up.Amana's are good for the connectors at the evap fan motor comming apart.the connectors are white and will look like its together but when you pull it will come apart.i would always cut the connector out and use a wire nut so wont happen again.if any other questions please email thru FixYa and i will be glad to help. SOURCE: freezer not freezing and fridge not cooling

Check the back wall of the freezer for ice buildup.
If yes, a defrost parts problem.
Check the freezer fan. Is it running?
If no, replace the freezer fan.
Check the condenser fan at the compressor. Is it running?
If no, is compressor hot?
If compressor is hot replace condenser fan motor.
If compressor is not hot.
Replace the compressor start relay.

Door alarm doesn't work
