I have Emerson sensi thermostat connected to my smartphone via WiFi to the sensi app. The AC is trying to turn on but keeps cycling on and off too fast. Won't stay in on position to start cooling.

SOURCE: Emerson Quiet Kool 6GC53 Air Conditioner

Chesapeake, given your symptoms you'll be looking at installing a new Selector Switch. But, before you go there... UNPLUG THE UNIT OR SHUT OFF THE BREAKER!!! Your selector switch does two things at a time, It energizes the fan motor (which it IS doing) and energizes the compressor at the same time. The voltage to your compressor goes from the wall into the selector, out of the selector, through the temp control then to the compressor. When the temp control is satisfied, it interrupts power to the compressor. The click you hear is the temp control being NOT satisfied and trying to send power to the comp. But if there is "no power" to send (i.e., the selector switch has failed)the compressor won't know to engage. Remove the front panel and filter. Remove the control box housing. Remove the knobs from the controls. You will now see the selector switch. Remove the 2 screws that fasten it (don't remove the wire yet!) and install the new switch. Then, one wire at a time, remove the wires from the old switch and install them on the new one. ***If you have an OHM meter, check the temp control before ordering a selector because this may be the problem and NOT the selector! To do this... remove the 2 wires from the temp control, set the control to "coldest". Then with your meter, test OHM's between the terminals. If you see "zero" OHM's, it's good. If you see no change in your meter, it's bad and THIS is the source of your problem. If you don't have a meter... you can test using this procedure... cut a 6" length of wire and strip the ends to about 3/8", twist the copper ends tightly. Remove both wires from the temp control, then insert one end of your jumper wire into one terminal and the other end into the other terminal. Make sure the "jumpered" wires are away from anything metal!!! And plug the unit back in. Now turn the unit on. If the unit fires up? It's the temp control, If not? it's the selector switch. SOURCE: No cool air. Thermostat AUX light turned on

I suggest you call a qualified service repair man. There are as many ways to connect a heat pump as there are people doing them. Nothing is standard industry wide that has anything to do directly with color codes, so it would be meaningless to go into them here. The terminals may be adapted to standard but but the thermostat manufacturer may not follow any terminal designations.

However you may just have an extra wire touching one of the terminals inside the thermostat. You can check this by removing the cover. Look where the wires attach to the terminal screws on the thermostat. Sometimes a new service person cuts the insulation back too far here or in the outdoor or indoor units and a "whisker" from one wire can touch the other terminals. A whisker is not the normal case try and move it away from another terminal if its is touching there. However, you may have jumpers in place especially if you have W, W1, W2... at any of the 3 sections, meaning the outdoor, indoor and thermostat.

If you can tell me the terminal designations R,Y, W1, W2, E, G, O, (B)... at the thermostat and the color thereon each, then at the indoor unit terminals or wire designations and the color there, then at the outdoor unit and the color thereon each terminal or wire designation there. I might be able to help if the above whisker check you don't find anything.:

I have an emerson sensi thermostat. Recently Not able to turn mode to "cool". "Heat" and "off" work fine.

Please explain. It's the mode button that you push in and it changes on the screen correct? It does not actually move left and right?? I'm confused.

I have a Westinghouse smart TV and I have the WiFi home but it is not connecting to the internet or netflix what must I do

Hi Samantha
Assuming that the WiFi is working around the house with other devices like iPhone / iPad and other computers?
The Westinghouse TV is just another device connecting to your Home Network via a WiFi Signal. Unless it uses a dedicated Ethernet Cable at the back of the set > to Modem Router Box.

So... the problem would require setting up the Westinghouse smart TV with the necessary settings.
Netflix is just a web site and will become available when the TV connects to your Network & External Internet GateWay.

First, you need to know your WiFi Name & Password.
I find it easier to use the iPhone as a test device to check the WiFi signal and set up details first. To Test Password etc.
There is a helpful tool on the App Store called iNet - Network Scanner - See Below
So... you must find the settings for Network on your smart tv.
Setting the tv for DHCP is allowing it to Automatically search for an internet connection. Thats what most people do.
Just choose your WiFi name (SSID) & Password.

But... you can choose your own IP addresses if you like to keep all your devices on a known address.
Eg. Your Router or Modem Box Gateway address 192.168.1.1
Each of the other devices have a unique address.
Computer 1 192.168.1.10
Computer 2 192.168.1.20
Camera 1 192.168.1.100
SmartPhone 192.168.1.130
You can use the end numbers between 1 & 255
Your Gateway might also use another IP Group e.g. 10.0.0.0
Your really only interested in making the last numbers different from each other.

Cheers

What can I try if my Coolpix AW120 won't connect to my smartphone, even if I've followed all steps correctly?

The Smartphone connects to the camera NOT the camera connects to smartphone. You have to have the APP on the camera. You first have to turn on WIFI ON the camera. It is like a server. Then you turn on WIFI on the Phone and connect to the Camera WIFI.

Im trying to connect my ps3 to my wireless router. it has recently stopped working. is there anything i can do?

Sure! Try this:
1 Turn your network off. Modem router, computer, printers etc. turn them off.
2. Leaving the wireless router connected to the modem with an ethernet cable (modem power off) , turn your wifi router on and let it cycle up.
3. After the router is cycled up, turn power on to your modem , leaving the ethernet cable connected to the wifi router's internet port. Let the modem cycle up .
4. After this, turn on all computers, routers and etc... no particular order.
This should allow your modem to find the wifi router and direct it to your computer via wifi or ethernet..
