Finding the cut off switch that stops me reverseing well cutting

My mower is a MTD 60E mini rider to go in reverse well cutting i have to stop the cutters with one lever then lift the deck with another lever just to go back a foot can anybody tell me where the switch is that i have to remove or cut the wires thank you

Did you try to disengage the safety feature that should shut the tractor off when the blades are engaged and the tractor is placed in reverse? I believe that it is located under the shift leaver

it sounds as if your carb is dirty remove bowl on carb i"ll bet it's it's dirty if so you will need to remove the carb and clean it

SOURCE: Riding mower surges in forward and not reverse. It

Ok first of all is not an automatic.Its a pedal operated transmission. The motion is accomplished by tightening a belt with a moveable idler and it is only shifted with a lever to forward and reverse. The belt probabley has a burnt spot in it and it hits that spot and it feels like a surge. Replace the motion belt

SOURCE: The deck blades stop turning in reverse unless switch is pulled.

This is a safety feature that is not that hard to do so i say live with it.You do'nt have to hold it up just pull it up before you start backing up and once your moveing you can let go without it shutting off the deck until the pedel returns to neutral again,all tractor have it by law after a certain date so jumping around it is niot a good idea.

There is probably a switch in the reverse lever that shuts of the mower. It is probably a normally open switch so when you pull the lever to reverse it pushes the switch closed killing the engine. If you unplug the switch or cut the wires going to it, it would never think it is in reverse and you could always mow.

there is a safty switch look for it the gearshift pushes it find it and unplug the wire one under the seat too if it stops when you get off the seat unplug it too if you want

should be a switch under the shifter that is pressed in when you put it in reverse. disconnect and jump the wires.

There is a switch on the reverse lever position. the wire has most likely fallen off and come into contact with the chassis

I have a MTD Yardman 46'' cut rider. Model 13BI608H129. The rider, when in forward, lunges. This is not motor surge. When in reverse it does not surge. It has what is called an ''automatic'' transmission....

when you put the machine in reverse it engages a safety switch, the switch can be jumped out with a piece of elec. wire, or it can be removed and repositened where it will not come into contact with shifter

17HP Briggs engine overheats and cuts out. Runs fine when cool. Just replaced magneto and plug and plug wire but the problem persists.Also replaced fuel line and filter and the air filter. Also stops...

Oil? Try changing the oil, and if there's a radiator, check that.

My husband says our mower wont cut in reverse but i have before

It will cut in reverse, but because of the rotation of the blades and where the discharge shoot is located it doesnt cut quite as good because it is try to discharge the grass on the opposite side of the deck while going backwards. Also, the is a factory installed safety switch that will kill the engine when the transmission is placed into reverse with the mower deck engaged. Because I dont wish for anyone to be accidentally injured do to the safety switch being bypassed i will not tell you how to bypass it. I know it is a pain in the **** that the thing quits everytime you just need to go back a few inches. Just find someone who will show you how to bypass it, its real simple.
