Could be several things. Here are a few to check:

  • Check your firewall software configuration and make sure pages that you cannot visit are not being blocked.
  • Change the channel on your wireless router and T60. Maybe there is inteference on the existings channel.

I am using Linksys Wireless- N (wrt120) and my download speed seems to work great but when I browse the internet my pages won't load. Sometimes they will load very slowly. It seems like the connection

There may be competing wireless routers or networks nearby on the same band. Within the router's interface, try switching to a different band (2.4 Ghz vs. 5.0 Ghz) or use different radio channels. By default the router will attempt to do this automatically, but you may want to try adjusting them yourself and see what you get.

Have you checked at the connection tab - lan settings (for Internet Explorer browser)? Maybe a proxy server is enabled.

I can contect with the Wireless router .. But I

First to check whether Internet is working Connect your computer and Router with Ethernet wire instead of connecting wirelessly. If Internet works on wired mode that means security key for wireless is wrong. Change the SSID (name of your network) from Router login page and then connect again while ensuring you are entering the correct key. As sometimes even if you enter wrong security key Computer will show connected to Router but you will not be able to access anything.

My computers wait for far too long to connect to all websites, and sometimes not at all !

Clear your cache. The cache is fullof temporary Internet files that you downloaded while browsing the Internet, like movies, music and large photos. Once your system is clear of these itemsthe Internet may move more quickly.
Use Mozilla Firefox or GoogleChrome. These browsers are known throughout the Internet community for allowingyou to have a quicker (and safer) Internet browsing experience.

Connect to a wireless connectionthat is closest to your computer. Sometimes when you connect to a wirelessconnection that only has one or two bars of strength, the Internet is slower.Connect directly to your cable or DSL modem with your Ethernet cord

How do you know your connected? If your only evidence of connectivity is a wireless icon in the system tray stating so. then its possible you have not authenticated with WEP or WPA.
Try the following: Plug an ethernet cable into the laptop and into the router and try to access the internet. If your are successful, its likely authentication as previously mentioned.

Brand new linksys wireless, Host (Hard wired)has intermittent connectivity. Indicates it is conneted and is working properly.Cannot browse Web. The wireless part works great!

try to plug the Ethernet cord for the Host computer on another Ethernet port on the Linksys router.

have you tried replacing the Ethernet cable that's connecting the Host computer to the linksys router?

check if Host computer can get a response from a website by going to Start>Run, then type CMD on the Run box and click OK. On the black screen, type PING www.yahoo.com then press Enter.. if you get the word reply 4 times, it means the computer is connected to the Internet.
If there's no response from the PING test, it means there's totally no connection.

It's also possible the problem is with the Local Area Network adapter or Ethernet adapter. Try disabling the Ethernet adapter and re-enable it by going to Start>Control Panel>Network Connections, you should see the Local Area Connection, right click on it then select Disable then Enable it again. then observe if you're still experiencing intermittent connection on the Host computer.

and if you have security software, try disabling it temporarily and check the connection again.

and let's make sure the cable or dsl modem is connected to the Internet port on the back of the Linksys router.

Wireless connection works for Skype doesn't work for IE and Outlook

Hi there, dkny, What kind of router are you using? That may be where the complaint is coming from. Perhaps there is a setting to allow programs and/or hardware(wirless card). Also does the wireless card come with a configuration utility? You may have to 'tell it' what you want to do. Hope it helps!
