I have a samsung HT-Z120 it show a PROT error

Hi,

This error means that you are trying to play a region-protected disc that is not in the same region as your player.

It is possible to "hack" the region on your DVD player by following these instructions:

Can not play music from the ipod dock, can see the songs but it will not play. HT-C6600

I have had problem with the unit freezing up. To resolve this, I remove the ipod from the dock
be sure a song is playing on the ipod; replace it into the dock; when the message - no disk - appears, then press the red "A" button to select ipod. That brings up song list and hitting the center SELECT botton on the remote, it plays the song correctly.

HOWEVER, if I hit the return button in the middle of play, I cannot go back and play a different song. The unit freezes on STOP. Or if I wait until the end and go back to the song list, then it starts to play the next song with no sound. When this happens the display on the unit flashes "MUSIC" / (play time), repeatedly.

The Samsung help-line thinks this is a problem with the iPod dock and are sending me a new dock. But I don't think that is where the problem is. I think the HT-C6600 is defective.

HOW DO YOU DELETE SONGS

Hello,

carefully follow the steps below:
Automatically Delete Music
  1. Open up iTunes by double clicking on the "iTunes" icon.
  2. Go to "Library" on the far left side of the screen. Click "Music" from this list, which will bring up all your music on the main part of the screen.
  3. Choose a song you would like to delete from the list and right click on it. Click "Delete" from the drop-down menu that appears to delete your song.
  4. Go to the bottom of the left column on the screen to "Playlists." Click on one of your playlists to bring up the list of songs in the list. From there you can delete a song on the list.
  5. Connect your iPod to your computer. The iTunes program will automatically sync your iPod to whatever you have changed in your iTunes library as long as it is set to the default settings.
Manually Delete Music
  1. Connect your iPod to your computer.
  2. Open up iTunes.
  3. Choose the third option in the "Options" menu called "Manually manage music" by checking the box next to it. It will ask you if you are sure you want to manually manage music on your iPod. Click "OK."
  4. Go to "Devices" on the far left column on your screen. You will see your iPod's name directly underneath that with an arrow pointing to the right. Click on the arrow, which will cause it to rotate until it is pointing downward and a drop-down menu will appear with all your songs listed.
  5. Click on a category or playlist, which will bring up all the songs in the list in the main section of the screen.

I've managed to sort this problem (well sort of)
ipod can be connected to the usb connection BUT although you can play the music it's not completely compatable formats
the answer is to use a "Y cable" connecting to the earphone out put of the ipod to the 2 aux. (audio) connections on the home cinema

Ipod Hook-up

Ipod's utilize headphone jack style connectors which can be purchased just about anywhere electronics are sold, however most dvd players utilize RCA jacks so you must purchase an adapter from ipod jack to RCA jack it runs usually about $10-25.00 also you can purchase a FM transmitter kit for about the same price but sound quality is not as good so my suggestion is go for rca converter and hook it up to audio input in back of dvd player or stereo for best quality.

Connecting an iPod to a HT-Q100 Home Cinema System

If you connect an iPod via USB, the system will treat it as a hard drive and will use its (very basic) on-screen system to display your tracks.

I found the best way to get a result is to use a 3.5 (stereo) jack to RCA phono stereo input into the auxillary input on the back (side). To hear your iPod, select AUX on your Samsung and then select and play on your iPod. Bobs your uncle!!
