The display screen is the most expensive part to replace in your plasma tv. In most cases its cheaper to buy the same model. Instead of buying the part and paying a repair man to fix it....Broken screen = junked plasma

Can the Plasma screen be replaced on a Panasonic TC-P50ST60?

Yes the screen can be replaced but this may turn out to be a costly repair. Being a firm believer that plasma TV's have the best picture and this is a top shelf model and Panasonic is now out of the plasma market I may consider the repair. Unless you can bear watching the slow transition rate of an led.

Is it worth fixing a cracked plasma tv;in particular a samsung pn58c8000? i am asking because I know a person who is selling theirs with cracked screen. It is a brand new television and is not even two...

No, a cracked screen, whatever the type, size or model of tv is terminal, unfixable. In a case of a plasma it's even worse - the crack allows the gases to escape which causes the voltages on the panel to spike, frying the Sustain boards.
The tv's are dead, good for parts at the best - a new panel would cost as much as a new tv, plus the shipping.

My son just through one of his toys at our new Panasonic plasma tv and now it will not turn on has a small crack on the middle lower right hand side where the on / off button and sd slot is on the screen...

Hello; I have run a TV repair business for 34 years now. That whole plasma screen is under a very high vacuum just like a light bulb or neon sign tube. If there is a crack anywhere on it, air from the room will quickly rush in, making it impossible to light up. This Plasma panel will cost more than the set sold for. Time to buy another set and maybe protect it with a sheet of Plexiglass cut to your screen size. John

P. S. cracked screens are never covered by warranty, but you might check your homeowners ins. or credit card if you used one to buy the set. Also if that crack is in the plastic cabinet and not the glass screen your set my still be repairable.

Cracked plasma screen

A plasma display is a very expensive part to replace. When the plasma display is broken, the tv is usually not worth repair.

Call Nec at the number listed on the owner manual, and ask a quote on part or repair.

Regards.

My lg plasma went pop now i dont have any picture just sound??? is it repairable or just fit for the bin???

It's repairable.
The most expensive part is the screen itself. That costs as much as a new TV. But, as long as the screen isn't cracked or damaged, you don't have to worry about that part.
The sound you heard may have been a popped capacitor on the power board for the plasma screen. Some replacement boards are less than $150 depending on the size of the screen.
Best to take it into a good repair shop to see what exactly needs to be replaced.
