I want change the air filter and oil filter. How do I do that and is their any special tool need for each area?? I have a 2007 volkswagen passat/4 door

hey
No there's no specific special tools required, you can buy oil filter removal tools which are usually a chain that is rapped around it to get grip or a claw type thing. Try to loosen it with your hand first and if that doesn't work you could use a fan belt and vice-grip's or buy a removal tool. the air filter is just a matter of flicking if a few clips.
good luck

Were is the oil filter on my scion xd 2008

2008 Scion xD oil filter is a cartridge (element only) type. It is located under a heavy, black plastic cap right next to the oil drain plug. To remove the cap, you will need a Toyota "Special Service Tool" or an Assenmacher Specialty Tools "TOY640" or similar cap wrench. Toyota is the only source for the oil filter element; make sure you get a new o-ring (should be in the box with the filter element) and a new drain plug gasket.

Location of oil filter on a 2007 pontiac g6

Oil filter location for a 2007 Pontiac G6. First open and lift the front hood of car. Its some what right from center on the engine about 9 inches from the radiator. All you will see is a black cap with black plastic nut in the center. You will have to buy a special tool to attach to your socket wrench to remove the cap. Turn it counter clockwise to remove it. Inside is a filter attached to a plastic part and rubber o - ring. The filter is NOT enclosed in a metal casing. Remember how it is positioned as you take it out. Pull off the old filter. Remove the old o - ring. Place new o - ring in place. Place new filter on plastic part and place it back inside the engine. Make sure it is placed in the same way it came out. Screw on plastic cap by hand most of the way. The tighten with special tool and socket wrench clockwise, but not too tight. This is now complete. Now you can drain out the old oil from the oil pan underneath the car. Remove hex screw with long wrench for more leverage. One to 2 hours later place hex screw back in by hand and tighten with wrench. Now add about 4 1/2 quarts of 5W30 oil only. Check oil level on dip stick. Add more oil if necessary. Job complete!!!

Oil filter

HI, The oil filter is a canister type filter on the top of the engine. You need to pop off the engine cover and you will see the filter cap in the front of the engine. To take it off I would suggest using the special Mercedes filter removal tool. If this is not an option you could use large pliers. Just be careful as this cap is plastic.

Where's the oil filter?

thats ok- they hide it pretty good. if you looka down from the top in front of the engine , it is tward the top, black and looks like a black cap with a bolthead on it. it takes a special tool to get ot off easiest. check out NAPA Service Tools P/N 3932 at your nearest napa. it is black and about 3" in diameter. you have to remove the cover, remove the filter cartridge/replace the cartridge and reinstall the cap with the special tool.
good luck!!
