Resolution:
If you have changed the default password and have forgotten the password, you may need to reset the NETGEAR device to factory default settings.
When a NETGEAR device resets, it goes back to the state when it was new — all information that was entered by hand is lost! Examples are critical things you need to get online, such as ISP username, ISP password, IP addresses, wireless security keys, and ports and services that were opened. It all needs to be re-entered.
So, have your ISP information before resetting the router.
Naturally, if you moved to a new city, or if you bought a used router, the old information in the router may not be of use to you. Contact your ISP if you can't connect any computer directly to the Internet.
Reset for most routers with a reset button on the rear panel
Write down configuration information such as IP addresses, security keys, opened ports and services, etc., that you modified. (The default username is admin and the password is either password or 1234. Try these before resetting the router.)
Hope this helps.......
God Bless.......

You can download a user manual for the router at www.netgear.com .
SOURCE: need network key for NETGEAR (virgin) to connect
for that you have to access your router.
connect your router to computer with ehternet cable.
then access it with following link.
http://192.168.1.1
or http://192.168.0.1
type user as 'admin' and password as "admin" or blank or 'password'
then go to wireless security then you find WEP or WAP key there but it is in * or # format so you can't know it.
So you have to set new key so you can easily know it.
Then set new network key then save and restart the router then you can connect it with new key.
SOURCE: Cant remember my netgear network key
There should be a RESET button somewhere on the router. If you cannot remember the password, you can hold down that reset button and it will reset all the settings on the router to factory default. You'll have to go through and set everything back up again after wards, but you'll be able to get on at least.
