Cleaning The Tower [inside]

I have an Acer Aspire T180. I would like to clean inside the Tower. I removed the two screws. But I could not get it to slide off. Have I missed something? Is there something else holding it in place? I would appreciate some advice. Thank You

There is a black lever just above the bottom screw...after removing the screws, push down on the lever and it should release the case to slide off

With the palm of your hand, hit and slide the casing back, sometimes casing can be very tough to get off so dont be afraid to use some force.
Also when cleaning the inside try to use compressed air and not a vaccum and when cleaning the fans put your finger in the fan to stop it spinning, the fan can generate enough electricity to fry everything if the system is not turned on.

I can not get the side cover off my acer t180 I need help!

Viewing the back of the computer, there are two screws to remove on the right side panel, at the rear.

One close to the top, one close to the bottom.

Make sure the screws are going through the side panel itself.

After you remove them you pull back on the side cover with one hand, holding onto the computer tower with the other hand.

Sometimes the side cover is tough to pull back.
(Be SURE the computer is unplugged from power)

Would appreciate hearing the outcome of this.

Opening side panel of acer aspire t180

You have done half the work toward the solution by removing the thumbscrews. The other half involves sliding a spring-loaded lever above the lower thumbscrew toward the bottom of the case. While the lever is slid toward the case bottom, push on the side panel in the same direction as the screws, i.e. toward the rear of the case. The side panel should slide just slightly, allowing you to then lift it off to access the inside. Note that when replacing the side panel, follow the above steps in reverse order.

When replacing the side panel, note that if the panel is not correctly replaced, the thumbscrews will not be able to be installed as the lock lever will not be set properly.
