SOURCE: kenmore upright freezer model 29238 keeps tripping switch

If the compressor actually runs for more than a second or two its likely the compressor is bad. Some models had a 5 year warranty and some ten years on the compressor only. The replacement of the compressor is likely beyond your abilities unless you are a service technician.

A typical cost for such a repair can be more than the freezer may have cost you if nothing is under warranty. Good Luck.

SOURCE: where can I get a freezer door key for Kenmore upright freezer model 39153

Locksmith.....just take the model number and serial number to them. If they can't, most likely have to be from the manufacture.

Where is the 9-volt battery located?

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

The 9vdc battery should be just below the door on the right hand side, ( from facing the front ) some models have it behind the toe panel/grill in said location...lower r/h.

That should answer your question. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Please take a moment to rate the info provided here today.

Kenmore freezer depleting 9 volt batteries, setting off alarm

trojo50,
your defrost elements are not working or the water inlet for the evaporator tray is clogged. That alarm is to let you know something else has triggered it. This could be s imple DYI solution or require a service call. let me know if you are up for the DYI.

Flashing power light on Kenmore upright freezer

If the yellow light is flashing it may mean that the 9 volt battery is dead.

On my Kenmore there's a small battery compartment on the bottom right of the unit - under the door.
