Water comes out freezer door

My ice maker has been replaced, however I still have water coming out the freezer door even though I turned off the water to the refer. I took the bottom shelf basket out and it was froze to the bottom. Someone had put a flat package against the vent and when I took it out I noticed red glowing lines through the vent holes. The Panel was hot. Also there seems to be a drain that was filled with nuts or some kind of debris. What do you think would be the solution to my problem,so no more water comes out and I could turn the water back on to my water and ice maker. Thanks

The answer to finding the cause of the leak is where we need to begin. Most start in the freezer section behind the rear panel where the defrost condensate is drained during defrost. Sometimes the drain hole freezes over and the water drains down into the freezer creating a large area of frozen water. Other times i happens as the water leaves the drain in the freezer and follows its path to the pan below your refrigerator to re evaporate into the air inside your home. If leaking inside the fresh food compartment then the cup behind the control panel may be over flowing and leaking down the back wall of the refrigerator and will need to be taken apart and cleaned to allow the water to continue down to the pan below the refrigerator. Sludge and dust or even ice may be blocking this line. Below is a link to a page that may help you resolve and fix this. If you have more questions feel free to let me know. Defrost that drain with a hair dryer and remove the debris . That should solve the problem . The red you see ( this is normal ) , is the defrost heater , thawing out the frost on the coils . The defrost water HAS to go out the drain or it will freeze the opening and the defrost water will flow out thru the bottom of the freezer door .

LSC27926ST REFRIG/freezer. Ice maker is leaking water that freezes on items in freezer, ice is messed up and had to unclog ice maker. Still a logjam of ice around ice maker. has been churning out ice...

The water inlet valve on the back of the unit where the water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and block the fill tube. Disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to see if it has a slow drip. It doesn't take much to eventually block the fill tube.

Ice-maker does not work. water valve seems to be working.

There are 3 things that can prevent an ice maker from not working.
1- Temperature of freezzer- Temp must be below 6 degrees on most ice makers.
2- Water inlet valve- Depending on how your ice maker cycles it calls for water for 7.2 seconds. If you have ice and water though the door you have a dual valve and the ice maker selinoid ine the inlet may be bad. Also make sure water is getting to valve. Just because water is coming through the door does not mean water is entering fridge. There is a reservoir in fringe that holds around 3 gallons of water that can still make water come out the door without water entering fridge.
3- Faulty Ice maker- over time the winding and other components can get worn out and fail.

First check the temperature in the freezer.
Next check the inlet valve. To do this you need to remove the hose going from the inlet valve to ice maker and switch with the hose leading to door. Push the actuator in the door to call for water and see if water enters the ice maker. If it does inlet is good. Replace Icemaker. If not replace inlet valve. There may be a problem with the icemaker still but wont know until inlet is fixed.

If you have anymore problems or you need further assistance please feel free to contact

The water dispenser is working fine, but there is not water going to the ice maker. The ice maker is turned on. I have removed the filter and put in the bypass plug. Any suggestions?

Switch the conectors going to the inlet valve.  Then open the freezer door, hold the switch to make the freezer think its closed and push the water button.  If water comes out by the ice maker then the valve is good and your ice maker needs to be replaced. If no water comes out the inlet valve needs to be replaced

The in-door water stopped working. The ice maker still gets water, but there is no water coming out of the door dispenser.

You more than likely have a bad water valve. Unfortunately, the water valve is a double valve ,one side services the ice maker, the other side the water dispenser.Even though the ice maker is getting water the whole valve has to be replaced. Hope this helps

Kenmore Ice Maker Not Making Ice

the water that is frozen in the fill tube could have come from the old water valve that you replaced ,you got to get the ice out, the easiest way ,though not the fastest ,is to unplug fridge for 24 hrs . and leave the doors open to let it defrost, the plug back up and hopefully in 5 or 6 hrs you'll have ice

Kenmore Ice Maker

Sounds like a water valve problem to me. Force the ice maker to cycle. (turn it off and let it get cold for at least an hour then turn it back on). Test for voltage on the ice maker side of the valve. The valve is usually in the back near the floor. Just follow the water line. Another solution. switch the wires on the water valve. then try the water dispenser and see if it makes the ice maker fill up. See if when the ice maker cycles water comes out the door. If the ice maker causes water in the door , replace the valve, If door switch causes ice maker to fill up replace ice maker again.
