I used my wife's hairdryer and heated the outside for a few minutes so that the heat could get to the batteries. Left it for a few minutes and tried to open it once again and Bingo.. it opened..

have new batteries and told the wife not to forget next time..

I put mine on top of the AGA to heat it fro an hour. This brought the batteries up enough to open the safe. Sounds weird but it worked!

All safes which have internal accessed batteries have a hidden key entry, generally found behind a blanking plate on the front of the safe. keys would have been supplied with the safe when purchased.
flat battery and no keys = Useless safe.
If you are in that position you have two choices:
If there is nothing in the safe buy a new one.
Valuables in the safe, take it to a locksmith.
If the safe is of the readily available small sized mass produced types the key lock is between the rotary door knob and the keypad behind a flip off blanking plate, this type of key lock is very cheap easy to replace and very very easy to pick so it won't cost much.

A set of emergency keys is supplied with every Safewell safe. In case the batteries drain out, you may use the emergency key to open the safe. These keys override the digital password. Remember, never keep the emergency keys inside the safe.

I just got a Pregex digital safe from goodwill. Batteries are dead and I don't have the master key to unlock it. I found a number where the key goes. It's J044470

Go to the safe manufacturer's website and contact them with the model and the number you quoted. If they aren't around, check with your local locksmith.

you would need to hot wire the batteries for the code to work but if the batteries have gone flat then it needs to be re-programmed again ,only one soloution here and thats to open it with a radial cutter
