Hi, Try to use the master mode button and put the unit in AUTO Mode and set the temperature between 60 and 70F. The unit will operate at low speed collect all the information needed and then switches to the best appropriate mode. If the room temperature and outside temperature are low enough the units will operate in heating mode. If for some reason this didn't work turn off the breakers and remove the batteries from the control. Wait for 5 to 10 minutes, after that put the batteries back and turn on the breakers. With the control turn on the unit and proceed as I tell you at the beginning, now the unit will operate accordingly. If not you need to call a certified technician to perform specialized test procedures to diagnose the internal cause for this problem.
After I have been reading up on your unit it appears that the thermostat is not operating correctly. I found this real basic information on installation for your unit. This link I am giving is pretty basic instal schematics. But seems to be something about your thermostat needs to be dialed in or is not working properly.
Check the thermostat setting...in the auto machines, with a reversing valve, there is no heating or cooling, generally, in the sensing temperature band of 19 Deg C to 22 Deg C and it only works on blower mode, re-circulating the room air. When the sensing temperature goes below 17 deg C, it works on heating and when the sensing temperature goes above 24 deg C, it works on cooling
By pressing on/off switch on .And then press mode button FAN,DRY,COOL,HEAT & AUTO as you required. Cool position keeps 22 degrewe by clicking Heat position keeps +29 by clicking Auto will be 24 degree and you can't change temp and also fan speed. By clicking Fan you can choose LOW,MED,HIGH. Hope this will be helpful?
Look, if you select a temperature above ambient temperature, it will switch from cooling to heating.(assuming that the aircon has a heat pump. most do these days.) Just dont rush the aircon because every time you make a setting change, it takes a while to regulate.
if the freon is 410a the pressure must be 100-120psi,if it is 22 the pressure must be 45-55psi.you unlucky because hitachi havent problems with compressors.is it inverter the unit?if it is you must check the outdoor pc board,if the 4valve clicking in the you must replaced it propably has stucked.
Heat pumps have saftey circuits that prevent liquid flooding of the compressor. Inadequate airflow across the evaporator in cooling can trip this circuit. Have your package unit serviced with particular attention to cleaning the evaporator coil and be sure your filters are clean and changed frequently in the summer months. Hope this helps GL!
