Vertical thin blue line 1/3 from right on Toshiba M65 laptop

The screen would have to be replaced in order to resolve the problem. Avg cost of screens are around $140. If under warranty contact manufacture.

there is already a problem with the video card.. for most laptop, they have built in video cards.. so you need to have your laptop checked by a computer technician.. or it would be best to bring it to the manufacturer, so they can install the right drivers for the video card after being fixed..

Try connecting an external monitor to the Dell Inspiron 9300 and see if the vertical line is also present on the monitor. If the monitor display is fine, then your laptop’s LCD display panel is defective. If the monitor also displays the vertical line, then your problem is with either the video card or motherboard located inside your laptop.
Not sure if the Compaq Presario has an external monitor plug, but if it does the above procedure can be applied to that one as well.

Sounds like your video inverter is bad or possibly the screen is going bad

My understanding is that you have 2 laptops with the same problem, if that is the case, you need to replace the lcd. When you have lines on lcd's, that is a sign of a bad lcd.

what i recommend you to test is to press behind your monitor and see that the line goes off or not.If it does..that mean you have a loose connection,it can be fix.Incase no then you have problem with your LCD.Normally if its LCD problem then you fix this problem,all you have to do is change the LCD.

Check it on External monitor prior to replacing the screen.. If the problems there as well its not the screen..

First, which model of Toshiba notebook do you have? Check it's bottom label- it will say "Toshiba" and have the model on it.
Then, try to update the display drivers. You can download them at www.toshibadirect.com/support. If that doesn't work, you may have an issue with the BIOS or the display itself.

The LCD would start to fail eventually, there is a fix you can try which has worked for some, but it solely depends if you want to try it out, it might revive your LCD...

a bright thin line in centre is called horizontal line. first of all do not keep tv on unless it is rectified. BUT If you want to put on tv keep brightness minimum to protect your screen for any demage. now solution your problem is in vertical section. 1 check vertical supply. 2 check parts in vertical section or loose contact. 3 yoke connrctor loose 4 ic defective It is not serious problem can be rectified easily
