Need to replace battery on TI-30XA. What is No.

Screen is very light and difficult to read digits, indicating "weak" battery. I need the number of the battery in order to purchase a new one if replacement is possible.

SAME HERE - NO WAY TO PRY COVER OFF WITHOUT DESTROYING CALCULATOR

  • Anonymous Feb 27, 2013

if you use the blade of a kitchen knife you can carefully pry the back cover off without any problem.

There are three plastic clips after removing the screws that also need to be released. One is at the top center by the LCD. The other two are on the side next to the lcd. The case seperates by color. not the false seam on the bottom. Be gentle and start at the corners. Then release the top center clip. Pry a little mor and you should be able to release the side clips. Then it will fall apart. Good luck!

Why does calculator not show numbers

Battery may need replacing. Or the screen is defective. Or the calculator is turned OFF.

Display is really light

there's no way to adjust the contrast on the TI-30XA unfortunately. you can try changing the batteries but beyond that, there's not much you can do.

Texas Instruments TI-30XA Calculator Problem

Either battery is dying, or circuit board has gone, or connector cable loose.

You can replace battery by removing 6 screws at back of calculator, but cost of battery is around 40% of buying new TI-30XA for $10 from Amazon, Staples or elsewhere.

I've used TI-30XA's for years, batteries usually last 2-3 years, then I buy new calculator. The one time I tried to replace battery, fading display still problem, so circuit board had gone bad.

So you could try battery replace and may be OK, but also may be waste of time and $$
