Hi,
In Windows XP you can open My Computer from the Start menu. To open My Computer, click on the Start button, then click on "My Computer" link as shown in the attached image.

To save the "My Computer" icon on the Desktop, right-click on "My Computer" Link in the Start Menu, and click on "Show on the Desktop" link.
Hope this solves your problem. For more help and clarifications, please reply to this post. Thanks

Yes expert ntldr missing

It means that your computer is missing a file that windows xp needs to run boot properly or is missing a program that your home edition xp needs. Repairing the OS or windows xp home edition by means of your xp instalation cd will do the job. Just insert your xp installation disk to your cd/dvd rom and select install windows xp home edition. Then select ( repair ), and so on let it finish repairing . Once your system rebooted, let it run without pressing enter or space bar. Just watch and let your computer do the job. This will probably solve your boot problem. But before doing all of this, please check your IDE or SATA cable and also the power cable that is connected to your hard drive. Try to unplug and plug again to ensure a good connection. If this won't work, you can proceed repairing Your windows xp installation or reinstalling a new xp operating system. Have a nice day and i hope i was in any help to you friend.

My computer crashed and i need to install windows xp home edition but don;t have the disc what can i do

You should have a system recovery disk. If you don't, then you will need a XP Home disk. As long as you have the XP installation code (usually placed on a sticker on the outside of your comptuer), you can use any XP Home disk. It's the product code that is really needed. Go borrow a CD from a friend and use your software code that is on your computer.

My xp is not booting no in safe , no regular my question is if I reload xp from scratch will i loose all my data files in my documents?

1. You can install Windows XP OS in another partition (another part of HDD). With this you will not loose anything.
2. If you want to ensure 100%, you can pull out your HDD and put to your friend's computer, open it with freind's OS and backup your files (also you can copy system files from your friend's computer to yours, it may help to repair your operating system).

OS - windows home edition to windows XP - upgrade?

Home Edition is already a version of XP. XP was released in Home and Professional versions. You can find out for sure what version of software you have by right-clicking on the desktop icon for "My Computer" (or on the "My Computer" entry on the Start Menu if the icon is not on your desktop), then clicking on "Properties" from the popup menu.

If you want to upgrade from XP Home to XP Professional, you can do that with the appropriate upgrade CD. But unless you are networking in an office setting, there really are no features in Pro that you don't have in Home.

If you still have questions, please post a follow up comment and I will try to help further.

Laptop

Hi

U can install the windows in laptop also.. But with one condition that u do not connect the laptop to the internet.. If u want to connect means u have to turnoff the automatic updates in ur computer.. My best suggestion is u buy a laptop with preloaded OS.. Because Windows XP home edition will not support some options.. Better u buy a preloaded laptop..
