I have a Frigidaire smooth top stove about a year old. There is dirt(looks like lint) and grease between the glass in the oven door. It looks bad. Is there a safe way to clean it out?
My husband cleaned this today!! Yahoo--I had over sprayed the glass cleaner and it ran in the vents.
If you pull out the drawer on the bottom, and look up you will find that the glass is being held in at the bottom by a "clamp" & 3 screws, one on each end and in the middle.
After you remove these, the glass front will come off, and you will see the inner door. There is another piece of glass that I cleaned, and now it looks 100 % better. Of course, the door comes apart easier than it goes back together, we had a little trouble lining up the screws. Don;t push the glass on too tight, the screw holes lined up better when there was a little space.
We have a 2007 Galaxy Series Range and just boiled over a pot of instant mashed potatoes over the stove and into the glass oven door vents. The above tip pointed us in the right direction. Our model had 4 screws on the bottom plus two chrome screws in the inside of the oven door near the top that was screwed into the outside and held the top of the outside metal frame to the inside door, with the removable glass pane inside. This was DEFINITELY a two person job. Total time spent removing outside frame and glass panel, cleaning everything, and putting back together was about 20-30 minutes. Looks almost good as new again! Thanks for the above tip since the users manual was useless for this issue.
I agree, the user's manual was useless. I think the manufacturer wand to bill you for a service call!

You have to pull the outer glass off door in other words take the door totally apart unless you have the solid glass on the front and then you can just take the outer glass off with several screws around the top and bottom and i think two on each side
Hello ewaters56 - Honestly, I suggest contacting a professional to have the inner glass panel replaced and I do not recommend for the oven to be used.

I just spilled a liquid jello/sour cream mixture on the top of my stove and a big line of it went all the way down between the panes of glass on the front of my oven door. It's a big pink streak -- it looks horrible! It is a Whirlpool Estate electric oven with a solid glass panel on the front. It looks almost like the panel could slide out for cleaning, but I am afraid of ruining something.
Something spilled between the glass panes on my oven door as well. I have tried to steam it out but that did not work and it looks terrible. I wonder also if this is why my oven takes so long to heat up. Shouldn't that be sealed?
I have a brand new Frigidaire oven. Only bought about a week ago. Have only used it a couple times and there is already a streak between the pieces of glass. Not sure how it got there, or how to get rid of it without taking the whole thing apart. Seems ridiculous to have to do that with a brand new appliance. And also, seems odd that there isn't a seal to prevent heat loss or drips from happening. Any suggestions?
I just bought a Frigidaire smooth top drop in range yesterday. I bought it from a builder, overstock and didn't notice till I got home that there was a streak between the glass. I can't return the unit, and now I'm disgusted. It will spoil the looks of my brand new kitchen makeover if I can't get this out.
Frigidaire Gallery stove - streaking between glass - no idea how it got there - anyone taken apart the Gallery series door?
I have the same problem with my glass in oven door greese was spilled and went in between the glass and the door i need to clean this now thank-you
Is this a poor design? The product manual says not to allow anything to enter the vents at the top of the door, but over the years, this is impossible. I have begun to take the door apart by removing some of the screws, but I have stopped because I don't want to get into a situation where I won't be able to put it back securely. Should I keep taking the door apart?
My Frigidaire smooth top has dust and grease in between the glass panes. This is so annoying! I have the model with the oven in the bottom drawer. Sounds like I have to take the drawer apart!
