To turn it off select connection method 3 above and progressive scanning mode, to set the mode, set progressive to off in the display menu so that the p scan indicator light on the front panel goes out. do all of this in interface mode. you can also do this by pressing and holding PLAY > on the front of the unit for more than 5 seconds, still watch for the p scan indicator to go off. this works best when the unit is connected directly to the television.

I am considering purchasing a Funai Full HD UpConvert DVD Recorder/VCR Combo. I have a HD Phillips TV with HDMI connections. I do not have cable - just use over the air TV. How do I connect the Fun

Purchase a DVD recorder/player that has a HDMI cable connection and use the connections on the TV so you'll get a hi def picture. RF will NOT give you a Hi Definition picture even if it's up converted.

Progressive scan

I had the same problem once and the solution is to reboot the DVD player. to do this you need to unplug the unit for 3 or more minutes and then you will have to go through the setup process again but everything should work fine and interlaced (not progressive) should be the dvd format again.

Have sound,no picture

Do you have it hooked up using the component cables?(red, blue, green cables?) You need to use the component cables to use the progressive scan feature. So if you have it hooked up using the yellow rca jack, you will have to switch cables.

I need to know how to get the progressive scan feature turned off so I can view DVD's.

Thanks for the progressive scan advice. I have a Go-Video DV1130 Combo I didnt have a DVD in the combo and I pressed and held the stop button on the combo instead of the remote and it came out of the progressive scan mode so maybe it works both ways? But anyway Thanks for the advice it sure helped me.
