This is the second Waring Belgian Waffle Maker that has had this same problem. You plug it in, flip the switch on, and turn the switch to how brown and crisp you want the waffle and nothing happens. It never heats up.
The first one that did this was so new that I took it back to where I bought it. I got my money back as they had sold out of the waffle makers. When I had called a factory representative, she told me that if the waffle iron didn't heat up it couldn't be fixed.
Is there a way that it can be fixed?
There is a thermal fuse inside the bottom half of the unit, enclosed in a white insulating sleeve. A replacement can be found on Amazon.com at the following URL:
