So Frustrating! I have the same problem! I bought 50 disks when I purchased the unit. When I ran out of disks I bought new ones. The only ones that seem to work are the DVD-RW. I bought new ones only to discover that they do not work. So I'm forced to look for blank space on the original 50 disks if I wish to record with this machine. This is unbelievable!

I called Sharp and was told that I need a DVD-R 1x or 4x OR a DVD-RW 1X-2X. These disks are difficult to find.

Emachines t6522 v1.1 disk boot faulure

The hard disk has failed and everything on it is lost. You will have to replace it (a new one costs less than $50) and then reinstall Windows using the recovery cd that came with the pc when you bought it.

I just bought an hour ago and the left disk drive is not reading the disk.

While this is likely to eb a simple repair, any "new" unit should work as expected. Your best bet is to return the unit to the place of purchase and request an exchange. Any attempt to repair this will void the warranty. The purchase location should not give you any trouble. Insist on an exchange.

Won't format new DVD-RW disks

i did everyting today to fix this. bought new dvds, name brands different, tried finding codes, called the number. trust me. try this. clean it. thats All i did. cleaned it with a dvd cd cleaning disc, the one with two little brushes on it, nothing special, ran it until i heard the beep, popped my dvd in, they all worked. everyone, im still recording. i ran it about four times. now, if you tried to burn a dvd, and got the error, throw that dvd away. because i tried about ten dvds. after i fixed it, THOSE dvds were no longer usable. dont know why. hope this works.

Replace motor in Broan 678 bathroom fan

I ran into the same problem, Lowe's carries Broan exhaust vents. They had both a replacement motor for all generations of 678 fans for $18, and they also had the latest generation of the complete unit for $40. I bought the complete unit, which included the fan I needed. Just unbolted it from the new bracket and bolted it to the old one. The new light housing, trim piece, and lens also interchanged. The existing one was old and yellowed, so this made for a huge improvement. All done from in the living space as well.

Black ink won't print.

My printer worked fine since April but this week, I could not print. Thought my ink had dried up although I only replaced it just before christmas.

Bought new ink, installed it and still nothing. Calibrated, cleaned etc. etc. re-installed the disk to do maintenance and after several frustrating hours trying to fix it, I called my local Staples, the store at which I purchased this printer to ask for help.

First of all he said, what printer is it, black or white. I responded white to which he said okay that identifies the model for me. I am sorry to tell you that Kodak has acknowledged a problem with their print heads and have sent us several to replace the faulty ones. I said lovely, I wished I had known that several frustrating hours ago and he responded that it was his understanding that Kodak was going to announce this to all registered owners via a bulletin. Unfortunately I did not get it so wasted a lot of time. He requested I come in and get the new print head or if need be bring in the printer and they would install it for me. I am pleased with the store's response but not very happy with Kodak's lack of committment to get the word out.

Hope this helps.

I too bought my seal a meal at Walmart. I have gotten it to work twice. The main problem is it won't seal. I really think it has to do with the black seals....If I pull them up it sometimes will work. It is really frustrating. I would take it back but have mislaid my recept:(

System not recognising disc

Is it only happening for this one disk? If so, I'd say it's probably a bad disk. I've ran into a couple of those before. Probably an error in production, I'd suggest taking it back and exchanging it for another copy.

If it's happening to most or all of your games, then it's probably a sign that the laser is going out. You could try cleaning it - get any CD or DVD cleaning kit and follow the instructions. If that doesn't work, you may need to replace the laser. That's a bit more involved, and more expensive, but I can help you with it if it comes to that.
