Unresponsive touch screen on Palm Tungsten E, buttons work

Often the problem on these is contamination that gets under the edge of the escutcheon which effectively presses the screen out of the usable area preventing entry in the normal area.

Using special screw driver (very small TORX) remove the covers and clean the screen edges. Note one has to gently pry the cover off when ALL screws are out.

A "sometimes works" method is to run a piece of paper or thin cardstock around UNDERNEATH the rim of the escutcheon to clean the contamination.

Note, you MAY need to "recalibrate" the screen after these procedures.

Palm Tungsten E2 stuck on Tap the center of the target

The digitizer part is defective and needs to be replaced.

You can find digitizer parts in ebay or other on-line companies, at reasonable prices.

Regarding the labor cost, depending of the repair shop you choose, it may be cheap or expensive.

Also, if you have minimum experience and skills in fixing electronics, you can try it. really is not so difficult, and minimum set of tools are needed for it

Best regards,

Replaced Screen, LCD, Digitizer & Battery, BUT

If you can back it up and reload the software. Recalibrate the touch screen that way. Could be some old data in there preventing it from happening.
