GE airconditioner. Temperature setting goes up to 86 degrees by itself. Nothing can change it tried evrtything

please check that the oven isn't leaking heat into another area. Or maybe your settings need some calibration or the temperature sensor for the oven is off by 60 degrees. If this is the case, changing the temperature setting to 410 should bring the internal temperature to 350 degrees. Please try this.

Any frost build up on inside back freezer wall? Are fans in freezer and at compressor working?

86 degrees Fahrenheit

If this set temp changes on its own then the circuit board has failed. Call a service tech or replace the unit. But this 86° might be the indoor temp, not the set temp? If I set my temp to 75°, then my temp goes to 86°, then the set temp (target temp) is 75° & actual room temp is 86°. The unit may not be working properly. Not sure if this helps.

Sounds like it is programmed. Read the manual about setting or removing a schedule.

Lower temperature will keep the room cooler. For efficiency sake, lower the temperature gradually to
68 degrees.

First you have to understand in thermostat there are Fahrenheit & Centigrade degree. If Centigrade between 16 to 30 and if it is Fahrenheit 60 to 86.
If you press the symbol ther> and > (or) ther- and ther+ at a time degree will change.
Now you set your temp +10 degree from your room temp and also keep "heat" mode.

You have the sleep mode set, which gradually increases the temperature setting( Usually 1degree each half hour until the off time is reached), so turn off sleep mode and it should be fine

What might be happening is that when you set the temperature with the remote, the unit will display the setpoint. After a certain amount of time it will revert to displaying the room temperature rather than the set point. Does the unit still work after the temperature display increases? I would recommend setting it on 23 degrees.
