Startup Repair Problem

You always want to start your windows normally.
In my 10 years as a computer technician I have learned that you never use the startup repair option cause it will never help.

This is a problem in your BIOS which is a common problem on acer aspire one laptop model. To fix that you need to flash your bios. Please watch this video for a step by step guide on how to do that.

Try disassembling the laptop & make sure that all main components are seated properly. Also make sure that all ribbon cables interconnecting the various components of the laptop are tightly connected.

If the computer turns off instantly after the power is pressed, either you are not plugged into the charger and the battery is empty, or there is a hardware fault that is preventing it from starting up properly.

if you are plugged into the charger and the battery has power as well, then try unplugging the power and take out the battery for 5 minutes, plug both back in and try to turn it on. if the same problem repeats then it is most likely a hardware issue.

If you are in warranty contact acer or your dealer, you will have to send / ship the laptop to acer warranty repair, more details from acer or your dealer.

If you are outside of warranty, take the laptop to a local professional for a diagnosis and a repair estimate.

To repair your computer using Startup Repair follow these steps:

1. Boot into Vista installation DVD
2. Choose your language settings and click Next
3. Click Repair your computer
4. Choose your operating system and click Next. This should bring up System Recovery Options.
5. Click on Startup Repair

Startup Repair should now start diagnosing your system to identify the root cause of the failure. Once it has identified the root cause, it would automatically start repairing your computer. If you are curious to know what Startup Repair did, you can click on the details link and see which tests Startup Repair ran to diagnose the problem.
After Startup Repair has finished the repairs, click Finish to reboot your computer.
Your computer should now be able to boot normally into Vista!!
Note -- If your computer cannot boot into Vista even after repairs, then go back to System Recovery Options and run System Restore.
That's it! This is how you use Startup Repair for most unbootable situations.

Use the Startup Repair option in the Windows Recovery Environment

Put the Windows Vista installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
Press a key when you are prompted.
Follow the procedure
Click Repair your computer. then follow the other procedure..
In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Startup Repair.
Restart the computer.

You can try to restart the computer in safe mode by tapping F8 key at the startup of computer and then try ro login to safe mode as ADMINISTRATOR......
Then right click on My Computer and click on manage......then go to groups and select your username there and try to change the password.......
It should work....and if not then REINSTALL WINDOWS......
