All you really have to do is put in the ink color you want and run a bunch of prints. Going from a light to dark color like black is fast--like about 3000 prints. Black to light color is going to be a lot more prints. Best is to print something with heavy ink. the more ink you put out the fast it will change color.
Dear It may good if model and consumable life detail mentioned. In general such problems arises due to residual pressure of waste toner. Try to replace the cleaning blade(wiper blade) in drum unit including pcr roller or corona wire. Also clean the high voltage contact points.
The solutions on that problem is in the imaging unit like you just have to clean the lens of the camera since tiny dots are dust that is being scnned by the lens during master making process
If you are seeing vertical streaks/black lines your primary corona wire is dirty and or the fax scanner may be dirty. 1)To clean the corona wire you take the drum unit and toner cartridge and place it on disposable paper to avoid spilling. 2) Clean the primary corona wire inside the drum unit by sliding the blue tab from right to left several times. 3) Return the blue tab and snap it into the home position. 4) Reinstall the drum unit and toner cartridge. 5) Close the front cover. Caution: if you do not return the blue tab to the home position it may repeat the black lines.
I am am currently not familiar with this model yet. But I have done such a procedure on other models already.
Please consider how to remove the unwanted colored ink. Do you want to dismantle and clean the whole drum mechanism? Or do it by printing several hundred (tousand) prints with high inkage? (You might discover some nice color effects.)
Some questions for you to make it clear:
Does the black ink bottle fit in the color drum? Yes? Continue!
Compare the PCB (unscrew the plastic housing) of a black drum with a color drum? Identical? Continue!
Set DIP switches on PCB like the black drum. You are ready to use black ink!
Cleaning with WD40 sometimes won't give you good result. Do this following method.
1. Removed the silk screen and soaked it in kerosene and dry it with cloth, check any foreign materials between the two screen.
2. Since silk screen is removed clean also the drum cylinder the metal parts with cloth and kerosene.
3.Check the pressure roller, this roller is located under the drum. This roller press the paper into the drum. Uneven roller cause the image not even specially the middle part of the copy.
4. Lastly, if all the above solution fails you need to dismantle all the silk screen ang the metal screen ang clean the roller inside the drum and adjust the thickness of ink by adjusting the squeegee roller distance between the doctor roller. Used metal filer gauge the distance should be 0.3 - 0.5mm.
sounds like the charge grid is not set properly in the drum unit..did you et up the drum unit properly and run the new dev and drum set up..if youy are getting black the charge is not working correct as the charge of the drum help to keep the toner from adhering to the drum surface when copying .. I would take the drum chrge unit out again and check it is set in the right way when you put it back on also check the contacts arent put out of line.
the thing might be down to an old master stuck to the drum this could cause the faint copies and the missing print.. pull the drum out check under the master.this would also cause the paper to jam on exit. the error is for no master eject check the calmp is free where it grips the master and also the path for the master eject to the waste bin
the problem seems to be un-even distribution of ink. try a different and new ink cartridge. Since you are refilling the cartridge, the ink inside of the cartridge is getting magnetized, there by, the ink stick to the drum of the cartridge and don't distribute the ink evenly. shake would clear it. you need to demagnetized the drum.
