  1. Place the scale back on a hard surface floor.
  2. With one foot only, place just enough weight on the scale for the display shows zero's or dashes. Once you see zeros or dashes remove your foot.
  3. Wait for the scale to turn off again.
  4. Step up onto the scale for a weight.

SOURCE: Err 1 message on Taylor Lithium Elec Scale model 7346

This is a reply I received from Taylor customer support. I have followed this procedure enough times to wear out the original battery and still get the Err 1 message. You may have better luck.

Thank you for your e-mail. The reboot below may clear the error from
your scale. You may need to do this several times to completely reboot
the system. Please let us know if you have any questions or continue to
display the Error.

1. Remove the battery from the scale
2. Set the scale on the floor without the battery in place.
3. Stand on the scale for 10 seconds (still without the battery)
4. Carefully replace the battery without turning the scale on.
5. Using only one foot, tap the scale or apply just enough pressure to
turn on the display. (It should show dashes or zero's) IMMEDIATELY
REMOVE YOUR FOOT.
6. Let the scale turn off
7. Step on the scale for a weight reading

SOURCE: screen shows ERR. I changed batteries and tried

You're right..This happens often when one changes the battery. Here's what to do :
The ERR message can only be corrected by holding in the DISP/MENU and STOP buttons for two seconds, which results in ALL the material on the recorder being erased. It will say (FOR) for a few minutes while it is erasing everything, then will work again.

SOURCE: Our Royal Tel-Weight scale shows

The best thing to try is to make sure the battery terminals inside the scale are clean- use a qtip and alcohol, or a pencil eraser. Other than that, there is probably a cracked solder joint on a circuit board inside the unit, not allowing it to initialize. You can try to disassemble the unit, and inspect it to see what the problem is, and possibly resolder the cracked joint. Other than that, a component on the circuit board could be bad, making repair difficult.
Wish I had better news, but hope this helps.

ERr

Are you talking 31 "Stone"? If so, I believe that comes out to 434lbs. You are lucky if your scales can read that high. For testing purposes, remove your shoes or more if you think your right at the upper limit. Or let a slightly lighter friend try it. I assume your talking "Stone" as used in the UK. Are you from there? (I,m in the US, in Florida.) Also, there should be a switch on the bottom of the scale (upper left corner) allowing you to switch between lbs, st and kg. You can try that as well, although the limit should be basically identical. If you tell me more, I can help you more.
(By the way, I weigh 197 lbs right now, that's 14 stone.)

My WW78 scale keeps giving an ERR message when I stand on it.

Usually I change the weight by weighing one foot and then weighing again with both. And then I keep repeating that until my results are consistent. Then that result seems to be accurate

My scale shows that i weigh about 30 pounds lighter than i do.

If this is showing your weight, how do you know how much you actually weigh?
Also, you should be testing on a flat, SOLID surface (bathroom tile works well).

I need a manual for a Berkley fs50 scale

Operating Instructions1

A. Powering-on the scale
1. Press and hold the POWER button for two seconds. Scale will perform a self-test by displaying four 8s for three seconds. When "0.00 kg" or "0 lb 0 oz" is displayed on the screen, scale is zeroed-out and ready for normal operation.
B. Normal Weighing
1. Hang fish on the attached hook. Weight is displayed in either kilograms or pounds and ounces.
C. Switching between unit weights
1. Press and hold the POWER and CHOOSE button simultaneously for three seconds. Unit will change from weighing pounds and ounces to kilograms and vice versa.
D. Taring Weights
1. Weigh a bag or container till its weight is steadily displayed on the screen.
2. Press the POWER button once. Scale will zero-out and show "0.00 kg" or "0 lb 0 oz" and is ready for weighing multiple fish together.
E. Holding a weight
1. With the weight displayed on the screen, press the CHOOSE button. This will hold the current weight and is indicated by displaying an H to the left of the screen. To unlock the hold, simply press the POWER button.
F. Storing weights into memory
1. With a weight in the hold mode and an H displayed to the left of the screen, enter the memory mode by pressing the CHOOSE button. While in the memory mode, pressing the CHOOSE button will allow you to navigate through ten stored memories. These are indicated on the left and numbered 0 through 9. There are also 4 letters that indicate other options. An A shows the average of all stored weights. An E displays the total and a C resets the memory.
2. To store a weight, simply hold down the CHOOSE button for three seconds. Weights will automatically store into one of the number registers. To see the numbers with their weights, simply scroll through the numbers by pressing the CHOOSE button as described above.
G. Resetting the memory
1. With the unit in the C mode, press and hold the CHOOSE button for six seconds and scale will reset memory and zero out. Press the POWER button and scale is ready to begin weighing again.
H. Powering-off manually
1. Press and hold the POWER button for 6 seconds.

Need to reset scale weight

You have probably set your scale to kilogram and not pounds. There should be a button to set this underneath the scale or even a reset button to reset the scale to its original settings.

Err 4

Sounds like it wasn't initialized, even though it says Er 4 instead of Er 0... According to my manual, to (re)initialize it and reset it to zero, tap the platform lightly. It should show zeroes running across the display for a second or two, then show all zeroes and turn off. It should be re-initialized...

Error Codes for the 5757 (according to my manual):

Er 0 Initialization error (remedy described above)

Er 1 Instability error (step off the scale, then back on)

Er 2 Overload warning (registering weight beyond the 440 pound max)

Er 3 Contact error (body impedance beyond technical limit - try dampening feet and try again for better contact)

Er 4 Bodyfat error (bodyfat percentage is beyond range - try dampening feet and try again for better contact)

Er 5 Bodywater error (bodywater percentage is beyond range - try dampening feet and try again for better contact)
