Pour some hot water in the drain if this does not work use compressed air

Testimonial: "So far that worked great, we will see if it continues to drain when the freezer is back on and does it defrost cycle."

Not sealing. warm air hitting cold air causing frost. also, door frame heater may not be working. most frames are "warm" to the touch. normally called an "anti sweat" heater.

Ice forms in bottom of freezer on frigidaire

dependant on appliance you may have a small drain hose at the base of the appliance that drains the defrosted water away at regular intervals. Sometimes this blocks and the water that should drain away just starts to freeze over.

Freezer model EV171NYMS04 we have ice build up on

There is a drain the back of the freezer that is frozen. Your trickle of water comes from the ice that melts off of the refrigeration coils during the defrost cycle. You need to turn off the freezer, then remove the rear cover from the back wall to expose the coils. With a hair dryer, melt all of the ice. You will find a drain under the coils. Melts all of the ice in this drain so water can get out of the freezer. When this drain is clear, you can put everything back together, and your freezer should work normally.

My Whirlpool upright freezer keeps building up ice inside the bottom back wall. The fan starts rattling and freezer will not stay cold enough to make ice. If I take everything all out and leave it off...

Either your defrost timer, defrost heater or defrost thermostat has failed. All parts are located behind the lower back panel inside the freezer. Most likely are the defrost heater and defrost thermostat.

Upright Freezer not freezing,

looks like low on freon. that causes freeze up. oddly enough they freeze up when charge is low , just the opposite of what you think they would do. you have a freon leak unfortunately. probably not accessible, and therefore not repairable. i would suggest, cut your losses and buy new. unfortunately for me and all other srevice techs, the days of affordable repair are over, you can now replace cheaper than i can fix and have a warranty and its new... good luck

Frigidaire Frost Free Commercial Freezer

The drain has most likely frozen over. It is at the bottom behind the back panel inside the freezer. You will need to remove all of the ice and run hot water down the drain until it is clear.
