I need to know in gallons how much I have.

If you don't have the proper watchmaker's tools (and you'll need several!) I recommend that you not do this yourself. You could scratch the case or damage the movement if you don't know what you're doing. If it's a water resistant watch the gasket also needs to be replaced once it is opened. DO NOT reuse a gasket! For about $8 any watch or jewelry store can change the battery and renew the gasket for you. Most Sears stores will do it while you shop.
The hole you are referring to is on the gas supply side of the regulator I guess. It is a very small hole and looks like it is blocked but is probably open. It lets high pressure gas into the regulator which reduces the gas pressure before sending it to the burners. The best way to test it is open and the regulators is working is to disconnect the hose to the burners and place it into a can of water. Bubbles means it is working.
if it is a new digital watch there is a small bit of plastic under the winder knob that holds it slightly out
this prevents the battery from going flat while in the shop or storage
remove that plastic bit and push the knob all the way in and it should start workingh

I have one of these, the cruiser version with passenger seat. It was a take apart nearly everything situation to get to the battery. on the right side of the motorcycle (throttle side) you should find two very small screws. remove these. I the cover should come off. If it doesn't come off easily, loosen the kick stand plate a bit. Inside you will now find the clock back. two small screws. remove them and the cover and you should be able to get at the battery. good luck
