I just replaced the cmos battery on my poweredge 4300 running server 2003. It will no longer boot up. It goes through and checks memory and displays the following: ''Poweredge 4300/500 empbedded server management firmware rev 5.21 system backplane firmware 5.35, power supply paralleling board firmware rev 2.34 Dell Poweredge expandable Raid controller 2 Bios v1.1-3 (build 1973) <1998 adaptec, inc. all rights reserved. <<< Press cotrol A For configuration utility>>> Waiting for array controller #0 to start it sits for approx 5 minutes and continues with this: Fatal error: controller monitor failed - Array controller not started. disabled I have checked the bios and the time and all the settings are correct. Additionally I have installed the ISA_CLEAR jumper (jumper is off by default) and rebooted the machine, got the error message :Invalid Configuration imformation Please run setup program, and it still hangs while attempting to start array controller#0. I turned the machine off, removed the jumper as it is by default, I no longe get the invalid configuration error message but it still hangs. Not sure what I erased or needs to reset, but prior to this all was booting up and operating just fine. Not being able to wrap my head around this thing is driving me nuts!! Thanks!
Configure your System bios and reboot. Your Hard disk drive was not configured. Pl configure. it will work properly
Do any of your drives have a amber light?ok where to begin, what type of perc card are you using?Power down the computer,do this remove the hard drive, pull them out half way out of the slot not all the way.power on watch as it boots i believe its contol A to enter the perc bios, but allow it to boot see if it will finish the process if it does enter the bios look at the disk configuration write them down.exit.,
power down reinstall the drives, power up ,if loads and it allows you to get in,look at disk management,if it prompts you to read from the disk choose this option as the raid configuration is stored on the hard drive DO NOT INITIALIZE AS THIS WILL DESTROY YOUR DATE EXIT
Exit saving settings and it should boot.
Good Luck
