hi ive tried the equalizer and it dont work im affraid, the only thing left to do is get a new speaker to put in,any ideas where to get one or how to do it?

Listen to me go to the equalizer settings & set all bars at the top otherwise go to sony ericsson service center & tell them to update software with MEGA BASS I was also having the same problem....
with all ericsson the volume is already way more than any phone on the market but there is also software to do that but you will have to take the phone into a mobile service center to have that done.
Well... The speaker is ok and if you're using the headset it should be loud enough for you. If you want it to be louder just use earphones/headphones that are sound isolating to block out ambiant noise. The hpm-70 can kinda do that because they go in in your as opposed to sitting on the outside of your ear. The earpiece volume is really loud. I found it hard to hear to people in some places.

have u downloaded any software?there might be virus in your h.set ..so please update antivirus in your h.set..or it can be software issue so u can consult sonyericcson care centre.
