Samsung 46" LCD TV stops responding

Hi there, after getting my main board replaced under warranty i still have the same problem approximately twice a month. When changing between channels the tv stops responding. The channel number still scrolls up and down on the screen, but the picture stays black with no sound. Does it in either ant or cable input. Can't even turn it off with the buttons on the tv. I have to unplug it and plug it back in and it works fine. The warranty guy did no troubleshooting just r/r the main board. He said there are only 2 boards in this tv, a power supply and main board. Ever hear of this problem before> Thanks in adnavce for any advice, Kirk Johnson

Well what i meant to say is that when i hit the up or down channel button it acts like it changes channel cause the display indicates the number on the screen. But it stays blank with no sound. The numbers don't keep scrolling up and down by themselves. Sorry I wasn't more clear. Thanks again for any help you

Ok, There are well three boards in this set that would influence such a behavior. The culprit is the Key Pad Board. It has what is called a leaky switch. This then locks up the Microprocessor. This will result in the set operating like a ghost has the remote.

Hi, i have a fairly new samsung 46" tv with sound but no picture

Please check in dark room condition if you can see the light come up in the background of the tv LCD. If you can see light it would be a T-Con board or main board problem. I think those tv had some issues with the T-con board.

Samsung 46" TV goes on and off many times before getting picture

Sounds like a circuit board problem , it goes on and off several times before staying on . It stays on after it warms up and makes a full contact . i would suggest calling samsung support . or take it to a reputable service agent . You did not say if it is still under warranty .

You can call 1-800-samsung to find out if your unit is covered under a special warranty for this problem. A couple of capacitors have failed on the power supply board and need to be replaced.

My Samsung 46 LCD clicks on and off and will not come on.

Hello,

First check the warranty, some Samsung units have 3 year warranty. If the unit is not covered under warranty then you will need to either repair or place the power supply board. If you want to do the repair yourself then go to our web site at:
www.ccl-la.com/capacitors.htm and look over the pictures and information. Then open your TV and get to the power supply board, after unplugging the unit. Look for the parts called capacitors that are bulging like the pictures on our site. You will need to unsolder and replace them, then your TV should be back alive again. The values that you will need to get are going to be marked on the sides of the ones you take out. Our page will have details about this. If you don't want to do the repair yourself we do offer a repair service for $45 plus shipping. Contact us at [email protected] for more information.

We have a samsung digital tv (46Inches) which is 6months old and the pixels fall down like apuzzle. the PCB has been replaced but the tv still does it.The company has said its the aerial, but the aerial...

If the main board has been replaced and it only does this when watching though the antenna input then there is a reception problem ,weak signal. Call Samsung ,this is under mfc warranty and they will make sure it gets fixed.

46" LCD TV

Have you try the other inputs?

I would suggest to try all the other inputs and if you're still getting a black and white picture then that would mean a defective main board. If your TV is less then a year old, still cover under manufacturers warranty.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

Have same tv and same problem samsung lnt4665f

We have the same problem with our 46" Samsung LCD Tv LNT-4665F. It's only 2 years old and unfortunately it's out of warranty too. Our tv would not power on and just does this clicking sound. We called to get it serviced and we will need to pay $95 to have somebody comeout and diagnose the problem or we bring it to the shop and pay $50 to diagnose the problem. we've never had any problem with our SONY TVs. we regret buying Samsung!
